In the delicious fruit in summer, many people will not think of avocado, many people do not like it, can be properly dipped in a little soy sauce or salad dressing to eat, the taste will be much more delicious, its nutrition is very rich, many people will eat the rest of the avocado core, these kernels can develop into a great potted plant, or even blossom and bear fruit.

Step 1: wash and remove the skin

When eating avocados, be careful not to cut off the core inside. After the core is completely taken out, it can be properly washed and soaked in clean water for a few minutes, then the pulp will be removed. The brown outer membrane on the core can not be removed to prevent the core from rotting.

Step 2: determine the head and tail of the core

The core is oval, and some kernels are very round. As long as you distinguish carefully, you can also see the head and tail of the avocado. The root system will grow at the bottom (tail), and the small buds will grow at the top. The slightly pointed one is at the top, and the tail is flat. In order to promote the kernel to take root and sprout more quickly, we need to soak the core in water.

We need to prepare three or four toothpicks, insert the toothpicks around the core, which is a fixed core, and hang it hydroponically above the container.

Step 3: fix the core of the avocado

As shown in the following picture, three toothpicks are selected and fixed directly around the avocado, then a container is prepared to hold some water without being too full, and the core after the toothpick is fixed is placed directly on the surface of the water. the core should be about 1 ram 3 out of the water to avoid being completely soaked in water.

Step 4: attention to maintenance

After that, you can put the hydroponic avocado core in a bright and ventilated environment to avoid sunlight, pay attention to maintain a certain amount of air humidity, and it is best to keep the temperature around 20 degrees.

Before the seeds of avocados start to take root, the water needs to be changed every 3 to 5 days, which helps to promote better rooting and prevent the growth of molds and fungi.

Step 5: take root and sprout

The germination time of avocado kernel varies depending on the conservation environment and the freshness of the core. According to my own cultivation experience, it usually takes about 8 weeks to take root and sprout. There must be greater patience in the process of cultivation. As long as the core is not rotten, do not give up cultivation.

During the period of rooting and sprouting, the top and top of the core of the avocado will slowly crack, the brown skin on the surface will slowly fall off, and the cracks will become bigger and bigger, the faster it will take root and sprout.

The root system of the avocado core will grow longer and longer, and the avocado core after rooting will not need to change water frequently, just wait for the clear water to become turbid before changing water.

The root system will be more and more vigorous, there will be a lot of small roots, and the top head will grow small buds, and then you can prepare to transplant into the soil.

Step 6: pay attention to pot maintenance

After the root system of the avocado core grows very vigorously, or the root system rises to more than 5 centimeters, you can transplant it into the soil and prepare some loose, breathable and well-drained soil. The flowerpot can directly choose the red pottery pot, pour it thoroughly after planting, and place it in a brightly lit place for about a week to keep the soil moist, and then slowly see the light.

Step 7: water and see the light

Soil-cultivated avocado potted plants you can keep in a place with more light, avoid excessive shade, need about 6 hours of light a day in spring and summer, and overwatering if the leaves are yellowing.

When the avocado plant grows to about 15cm to 19cm, it can be pinched at the top, that is, the buds at the top can be cut off, which can promote branches and control the plant type.

Step 8: eliminate diseases and insect pests

The maintenance of avocado potted plants should also pay attention to the timely removal of diseases and insect pests, if improper maintenance is easy to infect aphids, you can directly rinse with a lot of clean water, or you can rinse with some clean water, and then irrigate with a lot of clean water to avoid alkali in the soil.

As the potted avocado plant grows taller, the pot needs to be changed regularly, usually once every two or three years, which is conducive to more robust growth. Slow-acting organic liquid fertilizer can be given about three weeks in spring and summer, which is conducive to healthier growth.

If you use some avocado branches that have been grafted, then avocado trees can blossom and bear fruit after 3-5 years of conservation. If sowing and cultivation have been maintained all the time, without the technique of grafting to promote fruit, it may take about 15 years to blossom and bear fruit, and it is best to cultivate a few more trees, which is conducive to mutual pollination.
