Broad bean is also called podocarpus bean, Hu bean, orchid bean, it is grain, vegetables, feed and green manure crops, but also a lot of friends like to eat food, or is an important bean plant in the south, economic value is extremely high. Fertilization is essential to high yields when planting, so how should broad beans be fertilized? Let's take a look together.

1, need fertilizer characteristics

Faba plants need a large amount of fertilizer. According to the data, for every 100 kg of faba seeds produced, it consumes 7-8 kg of pure nitrogen, 2 kg of phosphorus pentoxide and 5 kg of potassium oxide. At the same time, its demand for various fertilizers during each growth period is also different. It absorbs less in the early stage of growth, but it absorbs more in the flowering and pod stage. The nutrients absorbed in the flowering and pod stage account for about 50% of the whole growth period. If the phosphorus and potassium supply is insufficient at this time, it will affect the later yield. Therefore, fertilization is extremely critical for broad bean planting to obtain high yield.

2. Apply seed dressing fertilizer

Before sowing, it is generally necessary to apply a seed fertilizer. Generally, each kilogram of seed should be dressed with ammonium molybdate when sowing, so that the seed can sprout as soon as possible, and it can also make the root system and nodule of broad bean grow and develop, accelerate the growth of seedlings, facilitate the cultivation of strong seedlings, improve cold resistance, and achieve yield increase.

3. Apply enough basal fertilizer

When sowing, it is necessary to apply sufficient base fertilizer, which provides nutrition supply for the whole growth period of broad bean, and its application amount accounts for more than 80% of the total fertilizer application amount. 30- 50kg calcium phosphate and 7- 15kg potassium sulfate are applied per mu, and the base fertilizer is concentrated on the root of broad bean, which can increase the yield by 20%. At the same time, 1000- 2000kg decomposed organic fertilizer or farm manure is applied as the base fertilizer, which can be combined with ploughing. It can be evenly mixed with soil, which can increase microbial activity and improve soil fertility. The yield increase effect is better.

4. Timely topdressing

The top dressing stage is mainly seedling stage, branching stage and flowering and pod stage. Nitrogen fertilizer is applied at seedling stage, 6-8 thousand ammonium bicarbonate or 2-3 kg urea per mu. When applying, it is mixed with water to avoid burning the root system of seedlings due to high fertilizer concentration. When applying 3-5 true leaves, seedling fertilization can make plants grow early and quickly, and promote multiple branches. When the plant begins to branch, 8-10 kg urea is applied per mu, 8-10 kg ammonium bicarbonate is applied per mu in the flowering and pod stage, and the same water is added to irrigate, so that the plant can flower and pod more and improve the yield.

5. Fertilization outside roots

In addition to topdressing, the plant also needs to be applied with fertilizer outside the root. The fertilizer outside the root is generally sprayed on the leaves. In the full flowering stage, 1% urea solution and 0.2% boric acid solution are sprayed. This can prolong the function of the leaves, so that their photosynthesis can synthesize nutrients normally, so as to avoid premature aging caused by insufficient nutrition. When the seeds are strong, spraying 1% urea solution and 0.2% dissolved oxygen in dihydrogen phosphate once can achieve obvious yield increase effect.
