The vigorous growth and vitality of meat in autumn is the perfect time to turn the pot around.

However, turning the pot is not our goal, but one of our ways to make the meat grow better, and it is important to judge whether she needs to turn the pot or not before you decide to turn the pot.

The most common saying is that flowerpots should be larger than meat. So many flower friends find that the meat is bigger than the flowerpot, so they are eager to turn the pot. In fact, in most cases, turning the pot is not a must, it depends on the timing of meat growth needs and your expectations of meat.

There are no more than three reasons for us to turn the basin.

First, we want meat to grow faster and bigger.

Second, the original soil is hardened and pulverized, which leads to poor root growth of meat.

Third, there is no room for meat in the original flowerpot.

1. Let's start with the first case. In fact, how big the flesh can grow has nothing to do with the size of the flowerpot. The factor that determines the body shape of meat is actually the strength of the root system. Meat must take root before it grows up, and the meat will grow only when the root system can provide more supplies. Only when the root system of the meat has grown all over the flowerpot, the size of the pot will prevent the meat from growing.

The way to judge that the root system of the meat has grown all over the flowerpot is very simple, just to see if the root system of the meat has grown out of the hole in the bottom of the flowerpot, as shown in the following picture.

When you see something like this, you can turn the pot for the meat. When we pour the meat out of the flowerpot, we will probably see something like this:

As can be seen from the picture, every particle in the soil has been grasped by the root system of the meat. This shows that we have made a good judgment. The root system of this meat has been full of flowerpots, and the size of the flowerpots has become an obstacle to the growth of meat. Turning the basin for her at this time must be helpful to her growth.

When this kind of meat is turned over, it is best not to change the soil, just change a large basin and add new soil. In order for her to grow better, we can gently pat the soil that is only grasped by the roots with our hands, remove the dead leaves at the bottom and part of the soil close to the dead leaves, and if the meat already has piles, we can let the stakes show a little bit, so that the leaves of the meat no longer touch the soil.

Do not remove too much soil, this can protect a large number of unharmed root hairs, replanting will not need to take the pot, can directly enter the growth.

The cleaned meat looks like the following picture.

If your meat roots are not as developed as the meat shown in the picture, you don't have to rush to turn the pot until next spring or autumn.

2. The second situation is that soil factors affect the growth of meat, not only need to turn the basin, but also need to change the soil, which is divided into several different situations, let's talk about it separately.

The most common situation is that some meat is raised with peat soil or garden soil, which is difficult to deal with at the beginning, and now wants to take advantage of the spring to replace it with granular soil. In this case, it is necessary to thoroughly remove the soil, trim the roots, dry the roots and then put them on the pot.

Another situation is the need to change soil regularly. If the soil is used for a long time, the particles inside will be pulverized and affect the air permeability of the soil. As some meat grows up to become old stakes, the root system becomes thicker, and at the same time, there will be higher requirements for the air permeability of the soil. Even if the original fine-grained soil is not pulverized, it will not be able to meet the growth needs of meat.

The tree in the picture below has been in bloom for five years. Recently, I found that her growth is not very good. It is clear that the temperature and humidity are very suitable, but there is no obvious sign of growth. The leaves on the decorated branches are very small, and there are a lot of dead leaves.

Turning over the flowerpot to see the drainage holes at the bottom of the pot, you can see that the roots that have already grown drainage holes have withered and died, which further proves that there is something wrong with the meat.

Generally speaking, the root system of the old pile meat, which has been fed for many years, is very good, and once there is a problem with the meat, the cause must be determined immediately. If you can't find a clear reason, it's probably the soil. Let's turn the pot together to see what causes the root system to die.

After turning the basin, it is easy to see that after three years of root drilling and squeezing, except for hard particles such as Maifan stone, red jade soil, deer marsh soil and other particles have varying degrees of pulverization. The permeability of the soil has been unable to meet the needs of this old pile of meat, the replacement of looser, larger particles of soil can better help her grow.

If the root system has obvious decay, dryness, or uneven growth (with particularly long roots), relatively thorough soil removal and root pruning are needed. For the soil deposited between the roots that affect root respiration, clean it up decisively with tweezers and plant it in the pot after drying the roots.

When potting, it is recommended that we plant with dry soil, which has less friction and is not easy to damage the root system. Stand still for 24 hours before watering and maintain in a bright astigmatism environment.

The last situation is whether to turn the pot when the meat grows bigger than the flowerpot. Instead of answering this question, I'll show you two photos first.

The two small flowerpots in the photo are only about 4 centimeters in size, but the meat has been planted in it for almost two years, and the root system has already filled the whole flowerpot. If they were planted in a larger basin, they would certainly grow up quickly, but at the same time they would lose their mini-cute appearance.

Therefore, for this kind of intensive meat, you should decide whether to turn the pot or not according to your own preference.
