Koji vegetables are also called borage vegetables, which are very similar to mother-in-law and bitter herbs. although they are wild vegetables, they are still very different in terms of nutritional value and efficacy. One of the biggest differences between koji vegetables and other wild vegetables is that they are mainly used as medicine and can be used to treat sudden diseases such as dysentery, acute pharyngitis, hemorrhoids and appendicitis. Let's take a look at it next.

1. Soil preparation and fertilization

Koji is a kind of light-loving plant, so we should choose either sunny slope or semi-sunny slope with sufficient light, followed by sufficient soil nutrients, loose soil and too heavy stickiness. It is easy to produce diseases caused by improper water management, such as blight, downy mildew and so on. At the same time, turn the land deeply, at least 20 centimeters or so, spread a layer of organic fertilizer evenly, then turn the land over again, turn the soil into particles the size of the tip of little thumb, rake the ground flat, and finally start a good ditch, you can sow seeds.

2. Scientific sowing

The sowing of koji must be scientific. Koji is usually sown around February and March every spring, when the soil temperature has basically reached about 10 degrees, just reaching the temperature at which koji seeds germinate. The methods of sowing are generally divided into strip sowing and sowing. Sowing requires watering the planting land before sowing. Be sure to water the land thoroughly. When you feel the water seeping out, sow the seeds evenly on the land, then press the seeds gently into the land with a rake, cover them with plastic film to raise seedlings, while strip sowing requires making small ditches in the field, and then irrigating the ditches thoroughly. Spread the seeds evenly into the ditch, cover the seeds gently with soil, and finally cover them with plastic film.

3. Seedling stage management

Usually the seedlings will emerge in about three to five days. At this time, we need to observe the growth of koji seedlings in the field, and then replenish the seedlings in time and complete the planting. After planting, we should carry out reasonable watering to maintain the soil moisture in the field. Only in this way can we maintain the normal growth of koji.

4. Field management

Generally speaking, the first weeding and fertilization must be carried out in about half a month. If there are few weeds in the field, we can pull weeds manually, but if there are too many weeds, we need to combine with intertillage. And 100 jin of urea, 50 jin of phosphate fertilizer and 30 jin of potash fertilizer per mu are applied to maintain the normal growth of koji vegetables. In the whole growth process of koji vegetables, weeding needs to be carried out at least three to four times, and topdressing needs to be fertilized reasonably according to the specific growth conditions of koji vegetables, and during this period, it should be carried out in combination with watering. The most affected is that in case of heavy rainfall or more Rain Water, it is necessary to dredge the drainage channel in the field in time, so as to avoid some unnecessary diseases.

5. Timely harvest

Koji vegetable is a kind of wild vegetable harvested in more than a year, so what we should pay attention to when harvesting is that it can be harvested when it grows to about 10 to 15 centimeters. We only need to cut off the twigs above, and then water the roots with dung and urine water. Half a month later, it can be harvested again, and it can continue to be harvested until winter. But what we should pay attention to in winter is to keep it warm, otherwise it will not be able to grow new shoots.
