How to distinguish Euphorbia angustifolia

Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Rhizome: cylindrical, can grow above 20cm, diameter is 3-6mm, stem can be as high as 30-60cm. Leaf blade: linear to ovate, apex more acute or obtusely pointed, without petiole, 2-7cm long. Flowers: inflorescences solitary, sessile at bottom, involucral bracts campanulate.

1. Rhizome

The root of Euphorbia laticifolia is cylindrical in shape, it can grow to more than 20cm, the diameter is generally 3-6mm, and the skin is brown or black-brown. Stems are solitary or clustered, 30-60cm in height and 3-5mm in diameter.

II. Blade

Its leaves are linear to ovate, apex relatively acute or obtuse-acute, leaves without petioles, base cuneate to truncate. The leaves are 2-7 cm long and 4-7 mm wide.

III. Flowers

Inflorescences solitary on top of dichotomous branches, base without stalk, involucral bracts campanulate, ca. 3mm high. Male flowers numerous, bracts broadly linear, glabrous.
