China has a vast territory and abundant resources, and there are all kinds of wild animals living on the vast land. decades ago, many wild animals, such as pheasants, rabbits and even wild boars, could be seen in the mountains and forests of the countryside. Many people of my grandfather's time went to the mountains to play game, and most of the game was edible at that time. Later, as more and more people were interested in game, the wild animals that could be seen in the mountains and forests were almost caught. In addition, the state has issued many laws and regulations on the protection of wild animals, and now they can no longer eat even if they want to, so they can only pin their hopes on some farmed animals.

In the mountain bamboo forest south of the Yangtze River in China, there lives a very special wild animal, which looks like a bird, but often walks around on the ground, and its habits are very similar to those of domestic chickens, so this animal is named Bamboo Chicken. Generally speaking, bamboo pheasants like to appear in groups. 18 years ago, wild bamboo pheasants were not protected animals. At that time, many people were good at catching bamboo pheasants. Because the bamboo pheasant is aggressive, as long as someone imitates the sound of the rooster, it will respond, and hunters only need to follow the sound to find many bamboo pheasants. As a result, there was a lot of harvest, and dozens of them were caught.

Before 2000, bamboo chicken was the target of crazy hunting, because it is known as the "crown of mountain treasures". It tastes delicious and has a certain nourishing effect, and the price is also very expensive. wild bamboo pheasants are generally sold for 50 or 60 yuan each. it is sold to game restaurants and even sold in farmers' markets. Driven by such a high economic motivation, many people regard the capture of bamboo chicken as a sideline, wantonly catching, resulting in a sharp decline in the number of wild bamboo chicken, but also brought a series of ecological problems. Because the bamboo pheasant lives on pests such as termites and locusts, the decrease of its number means that the number of pests will increase, which has a very negative impact on agricultural development and the ecological environment.

Since the bamboo pheasant was added to the State Forestry Administration's list of protected wild animals in 2000, wild bamboo pheasant has been banned from being caught, but its number is small and it is rare to see it in the bamboo forests in the countryside. However, the bamboo chicken market has not cooled down, in order to meet the market demand, artificial breeding bamboo chicken has also appeared, and now many southern areas are farmed. Bamboo chickens are generally kept in free range, with poultry houses, and the requirements of breeding are higher than those of raising chickens. The time from shell to growth to adult chicken is about 3 months, and the market price is 30 yuan each, which is of higher economic value.

In addition to selling finished bamboo chicken, the eggs of bamboo chicken are also an input. Farming is risky, and you need to be careful if you don't understand it.
