Last Updated: 2024/09/20, The optimum temperature for celery seed germination is 15-25 ℃, but it is difficult to germinate when it exceeds 30 ℃. Sowing celery in high temperature season can take the following methods to deal with seeds to promote neat germination. Soak the seeds in clean water for 24 hours after 1 day of variable temperature treatment, change the water every 8 hours, then remove, wash and wrap them with wet gauze and put in 5 ℃.

Celery seed is small, thick, contains oil glands, the most suitable germination temperature is 20 ℃, and sprouts slowly under high temperature and drought conditions. In production, cold treatment is often used to promote germination when sowing in late summer and early autumn. If sprouting in a hanging well, soak the seeds for 14 hours, scrub them clean, then pack the seeds in gauze bags or net bags, hang them in the well at a distance of 30m / 60cm from the water surface, rinse them with well water once a day, and sow 80% of the seeds 4 days later. In addition, the soaked seeds can also be mixed with moist river sand and placed in a cool place, or the soaked seeds can be bagged and directly placed in the freezer for low temperature treatment, which can also promote the germination of celery seeds.
