In the process of planting green onions, it is very important to cultivate soil reasonably, which can increase the length of green onions, prevent lodging and bending, greatly improve the taste and quality of green onions, and enhance the value of green onions. Soil cultivation is an important measure to soften leaf sheath, prevent lodging and improve the yield and quality of onion. The cultivation of soil must be carried out in the green onion formation period, otherwise it is easy to cause root and plant rot. Soil cultivation should be gradually thickened according to the age of seedlings, but if the soil cultivation is unreasonable, it can cause green onions to burn roots, green onions bending and so on. Now the points for attention of green onion soil cultivation are introduced as follows: first, soil cultivation time. Green onions are generally cultivated three times in their lifetime. For the first time, it becomes "Xiao Pei". The thickness of the soil is controlled at about 5 centimeters. It is not too early to cultivate the soil when the green onions grow to 30 centimeters, otherwise it can cause the green onions to grow slowly and bend; the soil cultivation should be carried out in the afternoon, because the leaves are tender, otherwise it is easy to cause leaf damage. Scallions grow to 40 to 45 cm to carry out secondary soil cultivation, the soil thickness is controlled at about 10 cm. The last soil cultivation was about 20 days before harvest. In order to improve the green onion quality and taste, the soil thickness was controlled at about 10 cm. Soil cultivation should pay attention to the season, high temperature season can not cultivate soil, otherwise the pseudostem buried in the soil is too deep and easy to rot. Second, reasonable topdressing. When green onions grow to 30 cm, 25 jin of balanced compound fertilizer (such as 15-15-15) compound fertilizer combined with 150 jin of soybean meal organic fertilizer can be applied to promote deep root growth and meet the early growth needs of green onions. When green onions grow to 40-45 cm, topdressing should be based on nitrogen and potash fertilizer. 15-5-20 high nitrogen and high potassium type can be selected to promote the growth of pseudostems and leaves, as well as 250 jin of soybean meal organic fertilizer. About 20 days before harvest, 50 jin of calcium nitrate can be applied, this topdressing should not be supplemented with nitrogen fertilizer, otherwise it will easily lead to green onions becoming soft and taste bad. Third, the method of cultivating soil. The width of the soil should not be too wide, take the soil from the middle of the row, and the width of the soil should not exceed 1/3 of the line spacing, nor too deep, so as not to hurt the roots; the soil should be solid to prevent rain or watering collapse; the soil should not be cultivated if the soil is too dry and wet; to keep the green onion pseudostem straight, and do not cultivate the soil too deep, the deepest buried to the leaf sheath, otherwise it is easy to lead to green onion bending. And do not cultivate the soil too deep at once, otherwise, if you bury the functional leaf itself, it will easily cause the leaf to rot. Each time the thickness of the soil is 3cm to 4cm, the soil is cultivated to the boundary between the leaf sheath and the leaf body, that is, only the leaf sheath is buried, not the leaf. Fourth, the number of times of soil cultivation. The number of times of soil cultivation should not be too much. Frequent soil cultivation not only increases the workload, but also inevitably hurts the roots and leaves, affecting the growth and accumulation of Welsh onions.
