Profile: Yu Tian was born in Shengzhou City, Zhejiang Province in 1969. Senior Arts and Crafts Artist, Master of Arts and Crafts in Shaoxing City, inheritor of Shaoxing Intangible Cultural Heritage (Shengzhou Root carving). The representative figure with distinct personality of contemporary bamboo root round carving has created a new realm of bamboo carving art garden. In 2007, his bamboo root carving work "Jiangnan Silk Bamboo" participated in the touring exhibition of Chinese treasures to Mexico and other countries (sponsored by the Information Office of the State Council). From 2008 to 2011, his bamboo root carving works were shortlisted for four consecutive auctions of China Guardian modern and contemporary sculpture art, and sold at a high price. In 2010, a double exhibition of bamboo carving art was jointly held with Zhang Weizhong in Shanghai Jiading Bamboo carving Museum. In 2011, Changan Tower was invited to be exhibited at Xi'an World Horticultural Expo. In 2012, three sample works of bamboo root round carving process were exhibited and collected in the Shanghai Museum. In 2014, Bamboo Root carving "Goose Commander" won the special prize of the 4th Zhejiang Arts and Crafts Fair in China.
