Last Updated: 2024/11/05, According to the law of ginger absorption, reasonable application of suitable varieties of nitrogen fertilizer can greatly increase the yield, improve the quality, increase the content of starch, protein and volatile oil of commercial ginger, and decrease the content of soluble sugar and cellulose. In four kinds of nitrogen fertilizers: ammonium bicarbonate, sodium nitrate, urea and ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate had effect on seedling growth.

According to the law of ginger absorption, reasonable application of suitable varieties of nitrogen fertilizer can greatly increase the yield, improve the quality, increase the content of starch, protein and volatile oil of commercial ginger, and decrease the content of soluble sugar and cellulose. Among the four nitrogen fertilizers, ammonium bicarbonate, sodium nitrate, urea and ammonium nitrate, sodium nitrate had the best effect on the growth of ginger at seedling stage. In the middle and later stage, the application of ammonium bicarbonate had the best effect on increasing the yield of ginger and the content of volatile oil, starch and protein. In order to obtain high yield and high quality of ginger, we must pay attention to the application of nitrogen fertilizer on the basis of adequate application of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. Generally, 30 kg ~ 40 kg nitrogen fertilizer is applied per mu, and ammonium bicarbonate or ammonium nitrate should be preferred for nitrogen varieties. In order to promote the early growth and rapid development of ginger seedlings, appropriate amount of sodium nitrate can be applied when phosphorus and potassium fertilizer is used as base fertilizer (accounting for about 20% of the total fertilizer application).
