Intercropping of lettuce, ginger, watermelon and green vegetables

In recent years, farmers in Hebei Village, Dayi Town, Yizheng City have adopted the intercropping mode of lettuce, ginger, watermelon and green vegetables. The average yield per mu is 2000 kg of lettuce, 2000 kg of ginger, 1500 kg of watermelon and 500kg of green vegetables. Now the planting techniques are introduced as follows: first, the net border width of the planting method is 2.7 meters, and the groove width is 30 centimeters. Lettuce was transplanted in the middle of November, with a row spacing of 25 cm × 30 cm and about 9000 plants per mu. The harvest of lettuce ended in late April of the following year. In early May, two rows of ginger were planted on both sides of the border, with a spacing of 18 cm × 45 cm, with about 4000 plants per mu; at the same time, a row of watermelons were transplanted in the middle of each row, with a spacing of 55 cm and about 500 plants per mu. Sow green vegetables in the vacated watermelons in the middle of August. 2. Cultivation points 1. Lettuce with sharp leaves with high yield and good quality was selected. Before transplanting, combined with ploughing, 2000 kg of rotten manure and 30 kg of high efficiency BB fertilizer were applied per mu as base fertilizer. Sowing and raising seedlings in the open field in the middle of October. It was planted in the middle of November, and the root water was poured after planting. The dilute water dung was applied once after the living tree. In the middle of December, 15 kg of urea was applied per mu, combined with loosening the soil to block the roots and keep the seedlings overwintering. The harvest ended in late April of the following year. 2. Shandong Laiwu ginger variety with high yield and high quality was selected. During soil preparation, 5000 kg of rotten manure, 30 kg of superphosphate, 10 kg of potassium chloride and 15 kg of urea were applied as base fertilizer per mu. The hotbed sprouted in late April and ditched and sowed in early May. 750 kg of dilute water dung was applied per mu after emergence. After the aboveground stem was fixed in length, 10-15 kg urea per mu was applied to promote the expansion of the rhizome. It was harvested when the stems and leaves were withered and yellow in late October. 3. The watermelon variety Sumi No. 1 with early maturity and high quality was selected. In the first ten days of April, the seedlings were raised with nutrition bowl and covered with film. Transplanting in the first ten days of May and about 30 days of seedling age, applying sufficient basal fertilizer before transplanting, and watering living trees after transplanting. After transplanting for 10 days, 500 kg of dilute water dung was applied per mu to promote the growth of vines. When the main vine of melon seedling is 50 cm long, the main vine is managed, pressed and pruned. When watermelons are as big as eggs, 5kg urea is applied per mu. The harvest was finished at the end of July. 4. Yangzhou green and other varieties with high yield and high quality were selected for green vegetables. Watering after sowing, strive to sow the whole seedling. Pay attention to the control of cabbage insects, jumping beetles and so on during the growth of green vegetables.
