Last Updated: 2024/09/19, First, the choice of seedbed. Pepper seedlings should choose loose soil with high dryness, good drainage, ventilation and light, and rich in organic matter, and no eggplant fruit vegetables should be planted within 1-2 years to prevent the spread of diseases. To raise seedlings, it is required to keep enough seedbeds at the proportion of 1:20. The seedbed ploughed the soil one week before sowing and applied high-efficiency compound fertilizer per mu.

Pepper is a crop that needs a lot of fertilizer. According to research, to produce 2000 kg of pepper, it takes 10.38 kg of nitrogen, 1.16 kg of phosphorus and 14.80 kg of potassium to produce pepper. The results showed that more nitrogen should be applied to pepper, followed by potassium and less phosphorus. The fertilization scheme with more nitrogen, less potassium and less phosphorus increased the yield by 24.9% than that of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, and 26.8% higher than that of nitrogen, less phosphorus and more potassium. In order to obtain high yield of hot pepper, it is suggested that 50 kg of nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium compound fertilizer, 50 kg of calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, 15 kg of urea, 20 kg of potassium sulfate or potassium chloride (or 200 kg of plant ash) should be applied per mu. The specific amount of fertilizer application depends on the increase or decrease of soil fertility. Among them, calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer has slow effect, poor mobility in soil, and is easy to be fixed by soil, so it should be used as base fertilizer and concentrated in ditch. Urea is easy to burn root and easy to lose, only a small amount (usually 5 kg / mu) can be used as base fertilizer. Potash fertilizer is also easy to lose, and pepper fruit period to absorb a large amount of potassium, potash fertilizer can promote fruit expansion, so potash fertilizer is mainly used as topdressing in the fruiting period. Compound fertilizer is mostly used as base fertilizer. If the cultivation is covered with plastic film, more than 80% of the total amount is used as base fertilizer; 50%-60% of the clayey soil without plastic film is used as base fertilizer, and 30%-40% of the sandy soil that leaks fertilizer is used as base fertilizer. In addition to nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium, pepper also needs a variety of nutrients. The effect of applying farm manure is better. If there is no farm manure, bio-organic fertilizer can be purchased. If pepper is grown completely with chemical fertilizer, foliar spraying is needed in addition to conventional fertilization, mainly to supplement the trace elements such as boron, zinc, iron, copper and so on.
