Cutting time and temperature of rhododendron

The cutting time of rhododendron is best in May or October in spring and autumn. When the temperature is between 20 and 25 ℃, it usually takes about two months to take root.

Preparation of cutting tools

Small flowerpots, loose and breathable soil, kettles, sprinklers, scissors, rooting powder (essential), plastic bags, string or tendons, thick bamboo poles or branches of chopsticks

Cutting steps of rhododendron:

Step 1: select the sturdy semi-lignified branches of the rhododendron in that year, cut off the length of 8cm or so, and then cut off the bottom leaves and leave the top 3 Mel leaves.

Step 2: soak the intercepted rhododendron branches in rooting powder solution for one day to ensure that there is enough water in the branches to better root.

Step 3: prepare cutting soil on the same day when soaking rooting powder solution, the proportion of soil is humus soil: River sand: peat soil = 2:4:4, then spray the prepared soil with moisture, which is just wet the next day; intercept 4 Murray and 6 25-30cm twigs and set aside

Step 4: insert the prepared rhododendron cuttings into the soil 3-4cm deep, compacting the soil around the cuttings to ensure full contact between the soil and the cuttings; insert twigs around the basin soil

Step 5: water the cut cuckoo once, then cover the whole flowerpot with a plastic bag and fasten the mouth of the bag with a rope or leather band.

Step 6: move the flowerpot to a bright place where there is no direct sunlight to maintain.
