Annual plants are often herbaceous plants. Although annual plants are collectively referred to as "annual" plants, their life cycles are actually quite different. The shorter life expectancy may be only two or three months, while the longer life expectancy may be more than a year. 1. Temperature

Annual herbs belong to cold-tolerant ecotype plants.

Annual herbs are more resistant to high temperature and grow most vigorously in summer because of the high temperature required during the growth period. 2. Lighting

Most annual herbs belong to short-day plants. In temperate regions, the sunshine hours are getting shorter in late summer and early autumn, and the flowering period is concentrated from August to September-October. Due to long-term introduction and cultivation, some of the species are not very strict with sunshine requirements, and have developed into sunshine neutral plants, often showing early flowering or long flowering period, and often changing florescence. For example, some annual flowers can blossom from the end of June to July. The common ones are lotus, wind immortal and pineapple.
