Introduce: yuan Longping, born in Beijing on September 7, 1930, was born in Dean County, Jiangxi Province. He graduated from Southwest University and now lives in Changsha City, Hunan Province. China's famous hybrid rice expert, known as China's "father of hybrid rice", was selected as an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 1995. In 1999, an asteroid discovered by the Schmidt CCD asteroid project team of Beijing Astronomical Observatory of the Chinese Academy of Sciences was named Yuan Longping Xing. It won the highest Science and Technology Award in 2000 and was elected as a foreign academician of the National Academy of Sciences in April 2006. He won an honorary doctorate from Macao University of Science and Technology in 2010. Won the Mahathir Science Award in 2011.
