Two New Radish Varieties Suitable for Summer and Autumn Cultivation

Under high temperature conditions, it is resistant to chaff and black heart. The leaves are upright and green. The fleshy roots are long cylindrical, 30 cm long, 6 cm in diameter, 1/2 buried, white skin, smooth and bright, good quality, fast growth, and 40 days after sowing.

Xia Changbai No.2. This variety, introduced from Thailand, is a hybrid with strong heat resistance. Under the condition of high temperature, it is resistant to bran heart and black heart, the leaf is erect green, the fleshy root is long and cylindrical, the length is 30 cm, the transverse diameter is about 6 cm, 1 is buried, the flesh is white, smooth and bright, the quality is good, and the growth rate is fast. it is harvested and listed about 40 days after sowing, and the weight of a single plant is about 500 grams. The suitable sowing temperature is above 23 ℃. Sowing can be done in plain areas, from late May to late September in the south, from late June to late August in the Yangtze River Basin, and from late July to late August in the Huaihe River Basin. Sowing in alpine areas below 500 meters above sea level should be postponed by 30 days. Other areas should determine the suitable sowing time according to the local air temperature, do not rush early sowing to prevent early bolting. The distance between hole sowing and row is 20 cm × 25 cm. Fleshy root is long cylindrical, 38 cm long, 6 cm horizontal diameter, straight, aboveground slightly green, 1 hand 2 buried, white, smooth and delicate epidermis, fleshy white, crisp and tender sweet, high quality. The average weight of a single root is 700g, with a maximum of 1000 g. The growth period of this variety is 50 days, the plant is vigorous, and it can grow normally at 38 ℃. In the local variety comparison test for two consecutive years from 1999 to 2000, the incidence of virus disease and black rot was zero, while that of the control Xiakang for 40 days was as high as 73%. The yield of field production is 2600 kg per 667 square meters (1 mu), and the high yield can reach 3000 kg, which is 40% higher than that of the control Xiakang for 40 days. All kinds of soils can be planted all over the country, and sandy loam is the best. The sowing time is from July to August, and the best sowing date is in early July.
