We should all have heard of saffron, which is a plant with medicinal value, which can promote blood circulation and remove blood stasis, calm the mind, and so on. Saffron flowers have several colors, and their fragrance is very special and very lovable. Saffron in addition to this very high medicinal value, but also has a certain ornamental value, let's learn about saffron this plant today.

Saffron can also be used as a potted plant! Understand these four points and easily raise saffron!

1. Select basin soil

For saffron, it prefers loose and permeable fertile soil, so we should prepare rotten leaf soil for it. Moreover, the basin soil should be disinfected before planting, because saffron has very poor resistance when it just sprouts and is more prone to diseases and insect pests. And the potted soil should be changed once a year or so, which is more conducive to promoting the growth of saffron.

2. Planting of saffron

For saffron, first of all, we need to choose a suitable flowerpot, small and medium-sized deep flowerpot is more suitable for its growth. Soak the prepared saffron seeds in warm water for about two days, then bury them in the prepared potted soil, be careful not to bury them too closely, so as not to affect the later growth. After burying them, put them in a cool and ventilated place, about ten days, saffron began to take root and sprout. After it germinates, it is properly exposed to sunlight and then slowly changes to normal maintenance.

3. Watering

Because most saffron needs to be planted in autumn, its peak growing season is in spring. Saffron doesn't need to be watered too much, we just need to water it thoroughly after sowing, and then water it again before winter comes. When watering in winter, we should pay attention to the difference between the water temperature and the soil is not too big, and must be thoroughly watered. After spring, we can maintain and restore the normal watering frequency.

4. Fertilization

We should choose a suitable base fertilizer before sowing, which is more conducive to the growth of saffron. Do not need too much fertilizer in winter, because in this season its growth rate is very slow and saffron seedlings are very fragile. When the saffron enters the peak growing season next spring, the amount of fertilizer should be increased. Fertilizer should be applied for about ten days or so, so as to ensure the rapid growth of saffron, which is conducive to promoting and increasing the number of flowers.

This is the normal maintenance process of a pot of saffron, and we can put it in a place of astigmatism at ordinary times. Because there are many varieties of saffron, their florescence is different. So we should pay attention to the selection, it is best to choose the variety that blossoms in spring, which is beneficial to the storage of flowers and the flowering period of this variety is longer.
