Last Updated: 2024/11/08, In recent years, the area of anti-season cultivation of Hami melon in Hainan has gradually expanded by using economic greenhouse. Compared with open field cultivation, Hami melon is a kind of cash crop with high input and high output. The seed price of Hami melon is expensive and the disease in seedling stage is more serious. the causes of seedling death of Hami melon are described and the control methods are put forward. ...

Cantaloupe soilless cultivation, a self-selected project of Baoan District Agricultural Science Research Institute of Shenzhen in 1993, was formally established by Shenzhen Baoan District Science and Technology Bureau in 1995. After two years' pre-test and three years' greenhouse test, the planned technical index can be well completed, the comprehensive scientific research measures are implemented, and the scientific data are complete. The main achievements of the project are as follows: the nutritional formula suitable for the growth and development of Hami melon was selected to maintain the good quality of Hami melon and ensure the success of trial planting. This paper puts forward a set of scientific management techniques suitable for soilless cultivation of Hami melon in Shenzhen, especially the use of shallow water cultivation, lowering the water level to control the occurrence and spread of devastating melon vine blight is the key to success and is a breakthrough technology. At the same time, the application of nutrient solution circulation, increase oxygen supply, make plants absorb evenly, grow luxuriantly, enhance resistance and reduce the occurrence of diseases, is also one of the successful experiences, which is worth popularizing and applying. The varieties of reticulated red which are suitable for growth in this area are selected. The product quality is good, the output is high. The average yield per mu is 2313 kg, the highest is 2934 kg, and the sweetness of melon (central refractive sugar%) is about 14 degrees, the highest is 17.5 degrees, and good economic benefits are obtained.
