It is a famous variety in China, originally produced in Yuyao, and is the main variety of red bayberry in Yuyao City, so it is also called Yuyao Waxberry. At present, it has been extended to all parts of the province and various provinces in the south. Guizhou is called science and technology bayberry, Jiangxi is called hybrid bayberry, Yunnan is also known as big tree bayberry.

Red bayberry is one of the fruit trees with the earliest flowering and the most fruit in spring. when the temperature is still low in early spring and accompanied by overcast and rain, it begins to bud, blossom and bear fruit one after another, and it is harvested in late spring and early summer, and it takes only 2 to 3 months from flowering to fruit ripening. The flowers are full of trees and there are many fruits, so the nutrient requirements are particularly strict. It is impossible to meet the nutrient requirements only by applying some pre-flowering fertilizer and strong fruit fertilizer. It is best to apply the fertilizer to be applied in spring in winter, so that sufficient nutrients can be accumulated in the bayberry tree. Only in this way can we have sufficient nutrient supply during the flowering and fruiting period to ensure that there are many fruits, large fruits and good quality. Specific practice: in winter, dig ring trenches of 30cm to 40cm deep and 40cm wide around the crown dripping line under the crown. Then each five-year-old tree was retted with 30kg of mature human and animal manure, 2kg of N-P-K (15-15-15) compound fertilizer, 3kg of calcium superphosphate or calcium magnesium phosphate fertilizer, 0.5kg of potassium chloride or potassium sulfate, 1.5kg of magnesium sulfate and 8kg of biological bacterial fertilizer. after all the fertilizers were stirred and mixed well, they were evenly distributed in the ring ditch and covered with soil. If the weather is dry after fertilization, each tree should be drenched with 80 kilograms of retting rotten human and animal dung water or biogas liquid or clear water, which should be evenly drenched on the soil covering the ring trench, so as to promote the dissolution and transformation of fertilizer, supply root absorption and utilization, and improve the effect of fertilization. In addition, 0.1% borax, 0.1% magnesium sulfate, 0.2% urea, 0.3% potassium dihydrogen phosphate and 800 times humic acid active liquid fertilizer mixture are sprayed every 10 to 15 days in winter, and the mixture is sprayed continuously for 3 times. All branches and leaves inside and outside the crown are evenly sprayed to supplement various nutrients from the leaves to improve the nutrition level of the plant.
