Cultivation techniques of Spring Maize intercropping and Autumn Cucumber

1. Select suitable varieties. The early maturity compact type varieties of maize, such as Luyuanzi No. 4, Yancao No. 15, 1243, Huang417, etc., cucumber varieties with disease resistance, heat resistance, shade tolerance and strong fruit setting, such as Jinyan No. 7, etc., should not be selected for early maturity spring cucumber varieties with strong cold resistance. 2. Strengthen fertilizer and water management. In the early stage of corn growth, 20 kg of standard nitrogen fertilizer should be applied to each mu, and soil cultivation and watering should be carried out after topdressing. Cucumber roots sit, according to cucumber growth combined with watering, flexible topdressing. Topdressing can be applied alternately with chemical fertilizer and human excrement to improve the nutritional status of plants. Generally, urea 15 kg or ammonium sulfate 25 kg and human excrement 1500 kg are applied every mu, and topdressing is carried out 3~4 times. The fertilizer and water management of maize in middle and late stage can be combined with cucumber. 3. Spray for disease prevention. Cucumber growth period due to downy mildew, powdery mildew and other serious harm, we should seize the opportunity in the early stage of each disease with several fungicides alternately sprayed control. Downy mildew can be treated with 600 times solution of 25% rhodotoxin, 200 times solution of 40% ethyl phosphorus aluminum and 500 times solution of 75% chlorothalonil. 400 times solution of 64% anti-virus alum, 150 times solution of agricultural anti-powdery mildew 120, 2000 times solution of 25% triadimefon, etc. 4. Enhance bottom ventilation. In the middle and later stages of maize growth, the old leaves at the base of maize should be removed in time, shading should be reduced, and the straw exhausted in the later stage of maize should be fully utilized to climb seedlings and bear melons.
