Breeding methods of lactating cows
The most important problem to be solved during lactation is how to increase milk production so that calves can be provided with sufficient milk, and cows consume more nutrients during lactation than during pregnancy and other growth periods. During this period, there are generally four stages, each stage of feeding has a certain difference. So let's follow the editor to take a look at how lactating cows are raised.
1. Colostrum stage
After giving birth to the calf, the body function of the cow has not yet fully recovered. At this stage, only some high quality hay and soup made from wheat bran can be fed. After two or three days, some succulent forage and nutritionally balanced concentrate can be fed appropriately, but it should be noted that the concentrate must not be fed too much. Usually in about half a month, the amount of concentrate can be restored to the amount of normal feeding, when the cow's breasts have been swollen, and the body function is gradually recovering.
2. Full milk period
When you listen to the full milk period, you can know that it is the period when the cow produces the most milk, and the time of the full milk period is also relatively long, generally from half a month after the calf is born to about three months. During this period, the milk yield of the cow is relatively high. During this period, the food intake of cows also returned to normal, but the nutritional requirements of feed are relatively high, usually we are fed according to the ratio of concentrate to coarse feed, and we have to clean the barn irregularly to maintain its sanitary environment. put enough drinking water in the barn and let it exercise slowly and appropriately.
3. Middle milk stage
If the middle milk period is not raised properly, it will directly lead to a sharp decline in milk yield, or even weaning. The middle milk period is usually about one month after the full milk period to one to two months before the end of the milk period. During this period, according to the normal situation of the cow, the milk yield decreases slowly, which is a normal natural law, but we can maintain the existing milk production through breeding and slow down the milk production. For this reason, we can choose carefully prepared feed for feeding, and at the same time, we can also prepare feed according to the ratio of concentrate to coarse feed for 4: 6, because if the proportion of concentrate is too large, it will cause the cow to become fat. thus affecting the fertility of the future.
4. end-of-milk stage
It is conceivable that the end-of-milk period is the final stage of milk production, that is, the period when milk has basically stopped secreting, and then we need to fundamentally regulate the body of the cow and prepare for the next pregnancy. At this time, we are mainly based on coarse feed, supplemented by concentrate, usually according to the ratio of 3: 7 concentrate to coarse feed, generally with corn, wheat bran, soybean meal, feed and other essential trace elements, and ensure that the cow exercises for at least an hour a day, so that the cow's body can return to its best condition.
