Last Updated: 2024/11/05, Water and fertilizer are the two most active factors in cotton production measures, and the regulation, promotion and control of water and fertilizer play a very important role in determining cotton yield. But some cotton farmers are impractical, in order to pursue higher cotton yield and higher cotton planting efficiency, blindly irrigate and fertilize, resulting in cotton yield decline, and even some cotton field water.

At present, most cotton has entered the florescence or boll stage, which is one of the most important periods of cotton production, the most vigorous and fragile period in cotton life, and is most vulnerable to the harm of cotton bollworm and other pests and the infection of various pathogens, resulting in falling flowers and bolls. during this period, cotton growth is greatly affected by the environment and climate, and it is sensitive to the demand for water and fertilizer, so it is the period with the most demand for fertilizer and water. In production, special attention should be paid to this period. The most common problems in cotton at flowering and boll stage: ① due to the poor field permeability after closure, the light was affected, so the effect of photosynthesis decreased, at the same time, the lack of oxygen in roots affected the growth and development of roots; ② cotton bollworm, red spider and other pests were seriously damaged. Due to the texture of cotton boll shell in this period, the cotton boll is young and succulent, so it is vulnerable to insect pests; ③ is easy to cause buds and bolls. If Rain Water is too much, peach is disadvantageous and prone to diseases, resulting in rotten bolls and black bolls; if the weather is dry, it affects fertilization and is easy to produce a large number of falling bolls; ④ is prone to excessive growth of fertilizer and water, and lack of fertilizer and water is easy to cause a large number of buds and bolls to fall off, resulting in premature senescence, affecting the yield and quality of cotton. Key points of field management: ① drought and waterlogging resistance, good drainage system, avoid drought or flood affecting cotton growth; ② reasonable fertilization, meet the needs of water and fertilizer, make the plant grow strong and prevent crazy growth; ③ control diseases and insect pests, focus on preventing cotton bollworm, red spider and other pests and various pathogens caused by diseases and physiological diseases, to avoid a large number of buds and bolls caused by diseases and insect pests ④ pruning, avoiding nutrition waste, moderately controlling row closure, enhancing ventilation in the field; ⑤ spraying foliar fertilizer, such as cotton special effect spraying room, can improve the ability of photosynthesis, enhance root activity, increase the speed of budding, flowering and boll formation, shorten bud and boll stage, reduce bud and boll shedding, increase buds, protect bolls, prevent drought and senescence and late maturity, and improve cotton yield and quality.
