How to fertilize bananas? The growing period of banana can be divided into three periods: vegetative growth (vegetative growth), vegetative and reproductive growth (budding), fruit growth and development to maturity, and each period has its own nutritional characteristics. According to the three stages of banana, the nutrition management of banana must select the fertilizer suitable for each stage and adopt the corresponding fertilization methods for fertilizer and water management. This paper is for banana fruit growers to refer to the proportion of nutrients and the amount of fertilizer applied at each nutritional stage should be flexibly adjusted according to the growth of bananas and soil fertility. 1. Fertilization in banana vegetative growth period the vegetative growth period of banana is generally the first 3-6 months after transplanting. The length of the vegetative growth period is related to the climatic environment. Hainan is the first 3 months after transplanting, while the banana overwintering period in Guangdong and Guangxi is 5-6 months after transplanting. The main function of fertilization in this nutritional stage is to slow down seedlings, raise seedlings, promote the rapid growth of banana roots, stems and leaves to form a strong trunk as soon as possible, so we should ensure adequate supply of nitrogen and phosphorus nutrients when potassium nutrients are sufficient. For example, the similar high nitrogen compound fertilizer such as 20-9-11 sulfur compound fertilizer is more suitable for the first half of the banana vegetative growth period, but in the second half, because it is close to the bud stage of the banana, it is better to choose 17-7-17 and other similar compound fertilizer with higher nitrogen and potassium in the second half. At the same time, appropriate amount of organic fertilizer (real farm organic fertilizer) should be applied in conjunction with turning small head and turning big head. The amount of fertilizer applied during the vegetative growth period is about 30% of the total fertilizer application. However, the specific amount of fertilizer application should also take into account the local soil fertility, if the lack of phosphorus, potassium soil should also be combined with the application of appropriate amount of phosphorus and potassium fertilizer. At present, the banana garden in Hainan is in the period of overturning. The application of chemical fertilizer should be combined with some organic fertilizer at the same time. Fertilization method if ordinary water-soluble fertilizer is used, then water and fertilizer should be irrigated once a week in the same month; then soil topdressing should be carried out three times a month, that is, a small number of times should be sprinkled in time after each topdressing. 2. Fertilization in the bud stage of banana is the period in which the vegetative body and reproductive body coexist. The fastest growth rate of banana in this period lasts about 2 months. There are two main functions of fertilization at this stage: one is to continue to promote the growth of nutrients such as roots, stems and leaves, and the other is to promote the development of buds and promote early budding. Therefore, more nitrogen should be supplied under the premise of appropriately increasing the amount of potassium application. For example, 15-6-20 sulfur compound fertilizer can be applied. According to the local soil fertility combined with the use of unit fertilizer to effectively promote the high yield of bananas, it is suggested that the amount of fertilizer application should be 40% 45% of the total fertilizer application. The fertilization method is applied topdressing the soil three times a month, but the amount of fertilizer applied each time is more than that in the vegetative growth stage, and sprinkler irrigation is needed after each topdressing. 3. Fertilization during fruit growth and development period refers to the period from budding to 20-30 days before harvest, which lasts for 3 months in high-temperature areas due to different cultivation areas. The main function of fertilization in this period is to promote fruit expansion, increase fruit sugar content, prevent cracking and improve fruit quality. Therefore, fertilization should be divided into two stages: the first half should be re-applied potash fertilizer and appropriate supply of nitrogen nutrients if you can choose 15-6-20 sulfur compound fertilizer; the latter half should be re-applied potash fertilizer supply control nitrogen supply if you can choose 15-6-20 plus potassium sulfate (but the total amount is subject to the mixture of the two). The amount of fertilizer applied during this period accounted for 25% and 30% of the total. This can ensure the first half of fruit growth and development and promote the rapid growth of fruit when it reaches the commercial standard, it can increase the sugar content of banana through nutritional regulation and improve the quality of banana. The fertilization method should be carried out three times a month in the first half of fruit growth and topdressing at least twice a month in the second half of the period, but stop fertilizing 20-30 days before harvest so as not to waste spraying after each topdressing. In addition, nitrogen fertilizer and trace fertilizer should be supplemented by foliar fertilization according to the growth status of bananas in order to ensure the healthy and healthy growth of bananas. In a word, as a typical potassium-loving crop, banana has the same absorption characteristics of N, P and K in different stages, that is, the order of absorption is K > N > P. According to the nutritional characteristics of banana, it is suggested that potassium nutrition should be re-applied when transplanting or leaving sucking buds. In particular, it should be reminded that after fertilization, fertilizer and water must be combined with fertilizer and no water equals to no fertilizer; large biomass of bananas, fast growth, large amount of fertilizer, and banana growing areas are either heavy rainfall, frequent torrential rains or seasonal drought, so it is not easy to apply too much fertilizer at one time.
