How do azaleas reproduce? Introduction to the propagation methods of rhododendron
The propagation methods of rhododendron can be divided into five methods: cutting, grafting, striping, splitting and sowing, among which cutting is the most common and the reproduction quantity is the largest. Striping is the fastest to form seedlings, and grafting is the most complex. Only varieties that are not easy to survive by cuttings are grafted, and sowing is mainly used to cultivate varieties.
Sowing method
For sowing, evergreen rhododendrons had better be sown with picking, and deciduous rhododendrons can also store their seeds for spring sowing the following year. When the temperature is 15-20 ℃ degrees, the seedlings will emerge in about 20 days.
Cutting method
The use of cutting propagation, cutting pot to 20 cm diameter of the new shallow tile basin is better, because of its good air permeability, easy to take root. The culture soil composed of 20% humus garden soil, 40% horse dung dust and 40% river sand can be used as the substrate. The best time for cutting is in spring (May) and autumn (October), when the temperature is between 20 and 25 ℃, which is the most suitable for cutting. when cutting, select the semi-lignified and sturdy branches of the same year as cuttings, press the knife with extremely tweezers; cut 6cm to 10cm with nodes, cut off the lower leaves and leave only the top 3 leaves and 4 leaflets. Buy a vitamin B12 injection, open it, dip the cuttings in the liquid, take it out and dry it for a while. Before cutting, you should spray the soil in the basin with a spray can the day before, but do not spray too much. It is mocking and moist the next day, which is most suitable for cutting. The depth of the insert is 3cm to 4cm. When inserting, first use chopsticks to save a hole in the soil, and then insert the cuttings, compacting them with their hands, so that the potted soil is in full contact with the cuttings, and then pour water once. After inserting, the flowerpot had better be covered with a plastic bag, the mouth of the bag is tied with a belt, open when it needs to be watered, and then re-fastened after pouring. The cutting flowerpot should be placed in a sunless place, and the cutting pot soil should be sprayed with water every day for 10 days. Except for rainy days, it can be sprayed once in cloudy days and twice in dry weather, but the amount of water sprayed every day should not be too much. Always pay attention to keeping the soil moist after 10 days. 4-5 weeks to shade, until the bud can gradually let it receive some sunlight. It usually takes about 2 months to take root. After that, it only needs to be shaded for 2-3 hours at noon, and the rest of the time can be allowed to receive light in order to make its own nutrients in its photosynthesis.
Grafting method
The grafting propagation of rhododendron is often used, and the grafting time is not limited. The rootstock is mostly biennial rhododendron, and the survival rate is more than 90%.
How to cultivate Rhododendron and its Propagation method
Rhododendron is a kind of herb of Compositae. It is only half a meter tall and has feathery green leaves. The azaleas surrounded by green leaves are very beautiful, elegant and unique. Next, I would like to share with you the breeding methods of azaleas. Propagation methods of Rhododendron
What is a rhododendron
Rhododendron is one of the top ten famous flowers in China, with many species and beautiful colors. Rhododendron is deeply loved by everyone, because of its high ornamental value, and can decorate the courtyard, so it is known as the laudatory name of Xi Shi.
II. Propagation methods of rhododendron
When azaleas breed, we should pay attention to the growth habits of azaleas. Azaleas are plants that like to be cool but avoid summer heat, so we must pay attention to the shading treatment of azaleas to a certain extent, and it is best to know how to avoid the direct light of the hot sun. Azaleas don't like dry soil, so prepare a moist soil for azaleas to live in. Azaleas have higher requirements for acidic soil, so azaleas can not be planted on saline-alkali soil. Azaleas prefer lighter soil and cannot be planted on heavy soil. The second is to use excellent drainage performance, can not cause soil stagnant water.
Third, how to raise azaleas-- the site
Rhododendrons can be planted indoors or outdoors in the open air. Planting rhododendrons should have a drainage slope. If they are planted in flowerpots, they need to be equipped with partitions.
Propagation methods of Rhododendron in various ways
Seeing the brilliance of azaleas affects the hearts of many friends who plant azaleas. So, is it easy to reproduce azaleas? What are the breeding methods of rhododendron? There are also many ways to reproduce azaleas. This paper intends to choose the common methods to make a brief introduction. For reference.
The propagation of rhododendron can be done by cutting, grafting, striping, splitting and sowing, among which cutting is the most common. The breeding quantity is the largest, and the seedling formation is the fastest; the grafting propagation is the most complex, and only the varieties that are not easy to survive by cutting are used for grafting; sowing is mainly used to cultivate varieties.
1. Cutting method
This method is the most widely used and has the advantages of simple operation, high survival rate, rapid growth and stable characters.
① time: West cuckoo in late May to early June, rhododendron in the first and middle of June, spring cuckoo and summer cuckoo in mid-late June, when the branches are moderately old and tender, and the climate is warm and humid.
② cuttings: take the current year's rigid woody branches, break off with heel, trim the hairy head, cut off the lower leaves, keep the top 3 to 5 leaves, moisturize and wait for insertion.
③ cutting management: cutting substrates can use orchid soil, alpine humus soil, yellow soil, vermiculite, etc. The cutting depth is appropriate from 1 stroke 3 to 1 stroke 2 of ear length. After cutting is finished, it should be sprayed with water, covered with film moisturizing, given proper shade, keep the cutting substrate moist all the time within a month, rhododendron, spring rhododendron and summer cuckoo can take root in about a month, and rhododendron takes about 60 to 70 days.
2. Grafting
It can connect multiple ears with one rootstock, multiple varieties, fast growth, good plant shape and high survival rate.
① time: from May to June, the tender shoots were split or ventrally grafted.
② rootstock: choose 2-year-old rhododendron, require proper thickness of new shoot and scion, rootstock varieties are cuckoo "jade butterfly" and "purple butterfly".
③ scion: on the rhododendron mother plant, cut the tender shoots 3 cm to 4 cm long, remove the lower leaves, retain 3 to 4 leaflets at the end, cut the base into a wedge with a blade, and the cutting surface is about 0.5cm to 1.0cm long. 5 grafting management, cut off the new shoots of rhododendron at 2 cm to 3 cm, remove the leaves, cut 1 cm longitudinally, insert the wedge end of the scion, align the cortex, bind the joint with plastic film tape, and tie the mouth of the plastic bag to moisturize; put it under the shade shed, avoid direct sunlight and exposure. Seven days after grafting, as long as there are small drops of water in the bag and the scion does not wilt, it is possible to survive; remove the bag in 2 months and remove the binding band in the next spring.
If you want to grow azaleas but don't want to buy them back in the flower market, try the above two most commonly used breeding methods. However, attention should be paid to the requirements of time and reproduction.

How to raise tulips? Introduction to the cultivation method of Tulip in soil and Pot
Tulip belongs to long sunshine flowers, which is sunny and sheltered from the wind, warm and humid in winter and cool and dry in summer. It can grow normally when it is more than 8 ℃, and it can generally withstand the low temperature of-14 ℃. The cold resistance is very strong, if there is thick snow cover in the cold area, the bulb can survive the winter in the open field, but afraid of hot heat, if summer comes early
