What do silkworms eat?

Silkworms can be divided into mulberry silkworms, tussah silkworms, natural silkworms and amber silkworms, and different kinds of silkworms eat different things.

Bombyx mori

Bombyx mori is an oligophagous insect, which not only likes to eat mulberry leaves, but also can eat lettuce leaves, green onions, dandelion and lettuce leaves. Mulberry leaves are the most suitable natural food for silkworms.

Tussah silkworm

Bombyx mori

Amber silkworm

Amber silkworm can eat the leaves of several plants, mainly nanmu leaves, but also eat Rubiaceae, tiger thorn and other evergreen tree leaves, as well as Michelia, camphor and other plants.
