The living habits of great tits

The great tit is a very lively bird, which can be seen in mountains and courtyards. It moves flexibly and often jumps constantly, clinging to tree poles or shrubs, looking for worms and eggs as food. It is wavy when flying, and keeps whining when it stops on the tree, which sounds like "squeak (appeal) hey, call hey hey" or "call bang", so the people in Changli, Hebei province call it "squeak (baby) snapping bird". It breeds in North China from March to August. In addition to living in pairs during the breeding season, people usually work in small groups. Nests are built with moss, grass stems, feathers, etc., between tree holes, bamboo holes or walls, not in tree branches.

Although the great tit is very small, there can be as many as 6-9 eggs in a nest, with pink and white eggs and covered with reddish brown spots. The hatching is mainly female, and the feeding of nestling is mainly male.

Feeding and management of great tits

Although the great tit is impatient, it is easy to domesticate, no matter raising young or adult birds can get good results. It is easy to catch tits with sticky nets and cages, but you need to have "luring birds" (commonly known as "wanderers"). The newly caught birds must change their food, start feeding flour worms or other larvae, and put the worms on a porridge-like artificial fodder. When the tits eat the insects, they will eat them together with the feed, so that they will slowly recognize the food.

Tit cages, chin cages, canary cages and yellow sparrow cages can be used to raise great tits. The feed is made of soybean flour, corn flour and peanut rice flour mixed according to 3RU 3.2, with proper amount of cooked egg yolk added, and often given some flour worms. Also give the right amount of vegetables rich in vitamins. Some people raise with embroidered eye powder, the effect is also very good. In winter, a small piece of pig oil is hung in the cage to peck, which can enhance its cold resistance and smooth feathers. In winter, properly increase the proportion of peanut rice noodles in the feed, or break the walnuts into the cage and let the birds peck at them.

There is nothing special about the rest of the management methods, they can be managed according to the conventional methods.
