Symptoms of being stung by scorpions

Large areas of redness and swelling and sharp pain often occur at the site of scorpion stings, and the symptoms disappear after a few days in mild cases, while chills, fever, nausea and vomiting, muscle ankylosis, salivation, headache, dizziness, lethargy, night sweats, rapid breathing and other lesions may occur in severe cases, such as convulsions, visceral bleeding, edema and so on. After children are stung, serious cases can die of respiratory and circulatory failure.

What if I get stung by a scorpion?

1. Emergency treatment: if there is a stinger residue in the wound, it should be pulled out quickly. At the upper end (near the heart end) of the sting, 2mi 3cm, tie it tightly with a tourniquet or cloth belt and rope, relax for 2 minutes every 15 minutes, and squeeze hard around the wound with your hands to squeeze the toxic blood out of the wound. If there are conditions, you can also use cupping, milk suction to suck out the venom, if the oral mucosa is not damaged, you can also use the mouth to suck out the venom.

2. Wound treatment: clean the wound with 3% ammonia, lime water supernatant, 1RU 500 potassium permanganate solution, 5% sodium bicarbonate solution, etc. Ice or cold water warm compress can be used around the wound to reduce the absorption and diffusion of toxins.
