Habits of Lead Water Snake

The lead colored water snake inhabits in rice fields, ponds, ditches and their vicinity. It is active during the day and at night. It preys on fish and frogs. It has eggs and embryos. In August, it gives birth to 2-12 snakes. The total length of the newborn snakes is 127~139 mm and the weight is 2.4~2.5 g. It is mainly distributed in Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Jiangxi, Guangdong, Hainan, Guangxi, Yunnan and Taiwan in China.
