It is normal for Brazilian turtles not to eat in many cases, but when the ambient temperature is appropriate and the living environment is healthy, the owner must pay attention to it and find a way to solve the problem. Let's take a look at what the Brazilian turtles can do if they don't eat!

The reason why Brazilian turtles don't eat.

In most cases, Brazilian turtles do not refuse to eat, as long as the temperature is right, the Brazilian turtles always enjoy the delicacy. However, if the environment is not suitable, the food is unreasonable, and it is affected by diseases such as white eye disease, skin rot, rotten nail disease and so on, Brazilian turtles will refuse to eat.

What kind of food do Brazilian turtles like to eat?

Brazilian turtles are omnivorous turtles that like to eat animal bait, such as fish, pork, animal offal, clams, snails, blood worms, red filariasis, yellow pink worms, snails, insects, fly maggots and other foods. Shrimp is the favorite of Brazilian turtles. Brazilian turtles are not interested in all kinds of fat meat, hard dried meat, cooked meat and all kinds of crude fiber food, and even hate this kind of food and refuse to eat it. The food should not carry thorns and bones to avoid tortoise injury. It is best to feed fresh raw meat. Pork should not be fed too much, otherwise it is easy to suffer from white eye disease or gastroenteritis.

What if the Brazilian tortoise doesn't eat?

1. Newly purchased Brazilian turtles: Brazilian turtles that have just arrived home do not eat because they are not adapted to the new environment. They will naturally adapt to the new environment after a week or a little more, and then start eating. If you are afraid of starving, you can add glucose to the water to replenish it, or manually open the mouth to feed.

2. The tortoise that wakes up in hibernation: if the tortoise that just wakes up from hibernation is not interested in food and refuses to eat, the breeder should not be surprised or dismayed. Turtles who have just awakened from hibernation, like many people who just wake up, will feel dizzy and need a period of time to adjust, but tortoises take much more time to adjust than humans, probably 1-2 days, or more.

3. Unreasonable food

① do not choose cheap turtle food sold by vendors. Not every turtle can adapt. Mixed-brand pellet feed is not nutritious enough and can not arouse the turtle's appetite. What is more important is the prerequisite for the turtle to eat. This is the most important thing. Otherwise, even if it is used in attractive food, it will not eat at all. This is the biggest problem for beginners after raising turtles.

② considers whether to feed something he doesn't like to eat. Brazilian turtles like to eat fish and shrimp (must be unsalted and raw). Good turtle food is also fine. It is best to use fresh fish as bait and cut into Xiaoding (because it is too big to eat and won't eat). Either feed it in the shallow water of his life, or take a toothpick and shake it gently in front of him. It will usually be eaten, try several times, be patient.

③ for some turtles, it will not eat the whole fish directly into the water. It needs to be cut into several sections to feed it, and so is the shrimp. Peel the head and tail, cut it into small pieces or put it in the water to feed it.

④ if the turtle is not in the habit of feeding on its own, it should be fed in person, otherwise it will starve to death without active feeding. Cut the fry into pieces, insert them with toothpicks and put them in the water, seduce and feed them patiently in front of them.
