Breeding method of horned frog
In recent years, horned frog is affectionately known as "Zhaocai frog", which is the most common pet frog in the world. People who have raised horned frogs all know that horned frogs love to eat, and the only thing they like to do all day is to eat. It has a big mouth, accounting for nearly half of the body. Horned frogs have become more popular in recent years, and more enthusiasts have joined the ranks of pet horned frogs. Let's take a look at the breeding methods of horned frogs.
Feeding temperature of horned frog
Horned frogs actually hibernate, but as long as they are not handled properly, they will die, so it is not recommended to let them hibernate. Horned frogs can tolerate temperatures ranging from 70 degrees Fahrenheit to 90 degrees Fahrenheit. When the temperature is lower, the frequency of feeding should be reduced, and the amount should be less. The optimum temperature range is 7580 degrees Fahrenheit.
Feeding space of horned frog
Horned frogs can be raised in any space with water. Generally, horned frogs squat in the same place all day and rarely move, so the space is small or large. As long as the water depth is no more than half of its height, it can live well. Each horned frog should be raised independently. Coconut soil can be laid directly in the feeding tank, or a wet sponge 1cm to 2cm thick can be used for its exhaustion, but do not choose stones with sharp hard horns to avoid scratching the horned frogs when chasing prey.
Feeding water quality of horned frog
Horned frogs should be fed with chlorine-free water, filtered water or spring water. Tap water can be removed by chemical methods, either by boiling or by leaving it overnight in an open container. Amphibians do not drink water, they rely on their skin to absorb water, so provide a large basin so that frogs can easily climb in and out. The easiest way to arrange is to tilt a bare cylinder and store about an inch of water at the lower end. The water should be changed every two days, or as soon as it gets dirty.
Feed the horned frog
1. Tadpole food: horn frog tadpoles are carnivorous and can be fed to red worms or other frog tadpoles in a manner similar to that of fish. The powdered food and water are inhaled into the mouth at the same time, and then the water is pressed out from the Gill cleft, and the food is swallowed. Artificial feeding showed that the horn frog tadpoles also ate bean cake, wheat bran, earthworm meal, fish, animal viscera and so on.
2. Adult frog food: the main foods raised in captivity are small fish, shrimp, Dubia, grasshoppers, crickets, bread worms, other frogs (frogs, frogs), suckling mice and so on.
3. Feeding quantity: horned frogs eat almost everything that moves in front of them, such as mice, goldfish and earthworms. An adult horned frog should not eat more than a medium-sized mouse or two larger feed goldfish per week. Overfeeding can cause the frog to be extremely overweight, making it impossible for it to stay healthy for a long time.
4. Feed Huoer: the horn frog should be fed with Huoer. If it is dead, shake it in front of it with tweezers. If you are feeding mice, it is best to feed mice that have just been executed or thawed, because it is safer for frogs and kinder for mice.
