The weasel is called the weasel, and the folk name is Wong Tai Sin. It is mainly nocturnal, quick and secretive, can climb trees or get into the water, and is cunning and alert by virtue of its keen sense of smell and hearing to search for food. They are the natural enemies of rodents in nature, and they have made great efforts in eliminating rodent damage. Weasels can not be hunted endlessly. Planned and reasonable hunting should be carried out on the premise of maintaining the balance of natural ecology.

Weasel hunting season

China has a vast area, complex topography and diverse climate, and the growth of the quilt of yellow weasel is also different in different regions. setting a reasonable hunting period is conducive to improving the quality of yellow weasel fur and the development of this important wildlife resource. Some scholars believe that if hunting from Lesser Snow in the Yangtze River valley, the endothelium can be raised to 90%. If the northern region starts hunting from the Beginning of Winter to the end of the Beginning of Spring the following year, the fur quality is good during this period. Hunters know from experience that it is easiest to catch White Dew to Lesser Snow every year. He has seen some hunters hunt from White Dew, hunting many immature yellow weasels, only for quantity, not for quality, and sell a large number of skins of poor grade, wasting the country's wildlife resources.

Weasel pursuit method

If a hunter wants to hunt a weasel, he must understand the activity pattern of the weasel. To understand the activity pattern of the weasel, it is necessary to look at the various traces left behind by the weasel activity. To this end, hunters have to go to the areas where weasels often haunt to find out the faeces, footprints, and eating residues left by the weasels, so as to understand the rules of their activities. Yellow weasel generally does not defecate at the mouth of the cave, it likes to defecate in quiet, smooth high places, the stool is black, the surface is smooth, thick and thin like a little finger, about four or five centimeters long. Urine Qisao, yellow, indulge in the slate dry after yellow crystal. The trail of the yellow weasel in the snow is an oblong juxtaposition, or a trace before and after. When he first came out of the cave, the weasel was lazy, the steps were small, and the trail was tight in the snow. When returning to the acupoint, the steps are big and the traces are sparse. Hunters can also judge whether the weasel is still in the cave from the thinness and density of the footprints and the direction of the tracks near the mouth of the cave. In non-snow areas, yellow weasel is often found at the root of the wall, holes in the wall, cliffs and other places where yellow weasel often haunts. If the paw prints left by the yellow weasel are found, the thin claw tip trench can also be seen on the hard top, indicating that the yellow weasel is often active in this area.

The method of catching weasel

1. The skillful method of catching calcium carbide: first find the hole where the weasel often goes in and out, then throw a piece of calcium carbide into it, set a wire pocket outside the hole, and then pour one or two ladles of water into the hole. The calcium carbide will smoke when it sees the water, and the weasel will have to drill out. In this way, the intact weasel can be caught. This method is simple and effective.

2. Close the cage to catch the wooden box: the wooden box is made of 0.03mm 0.09ft thick plank with a length, width and height of 3 × 0.6 × 0.5ft. There are movable gates at both ends of the wooden box. A shallow hole is drilled in the back of the gate and a line slot is carved along the length of the box outside the upper cover of the large box. A small hole is drilled in the middle of the slot, and a small round nail is tied at each end of a 3-foot-long string. Hang a 2'3 inch long string in the center of the rope A small hook made of wire was hung at the bottom of the rope, and the bait was hung on the hook. When the weasel came to steal food in the box, he touched the small round nails at both ends of the gate to get out of the gate. The gate hung down by itself and shut the weasel into the box.

3. Bamboo tube trapping: a bamboo tube about 0.9 feet thick (inner mouth diameter) is cut into 2 murals and 3 feet long, and the mouth and ground face are buried in the ground. The inside of the bamboo tube must be kept smooth, the bait must be put into the bottom of the tube, and the weasel gets into the food and is caught because it is unable to exit.

4. Hunting with dogs: take the dog to a place where weasels often move. If the dog constantly wags its tail when it smells the stench of weasels, it indicates that there are weasels in the hole.

5. Looking for holes and catching: in the wild, pay attention to identify the footprints left by weasels when they walk through, and carefully identify and look for holes. Generally, a weasel has more than two holes. Once found, only one main hole is left, and the rest of the holes are clogged. At this time, a bag of plastic was put on the mouth of the cave, and another Renren cave was hammered around its den. The weasel was frightened by the window and was arrested.

6. hanging door cage catch: when the weasel gets into the cage from the entrance to eat food, the stick must be pulled down, then the stick is taken off, the mechanism is out of control, the gate is blocked under the action of gravity, and the weasel is locked in the cage.

7. inverted beard cage capture method: it must be made of steel bars (to be elastic) and sharpened, and the cage should be made of iron wire, not bamboo, which contains live toads and weasels but cannot come out.
