Weasels do not know when they began to be called immortals, which may be related to their living habits. although weasels are known as immortals, it is also a good choice as a pet in terms of its lovely appearance. Interested friends can give it a try. Let's take a look at how weasel pets are raised.

Cage making

The cage is composed of a wire cage and a nest box, and it is better for the iron cage to be larger, with a door on it, so that a small hole at the bottom of the side can be fed and cleaned to connect with the nest box, which is used for weasels to rest and give birth, which is slightly smaller than the wire cage and nailed with hardwood.

Feed formula

Weasels had better be fed with mixed feed, which should be mainly meat feed, and some cereal feed and vegetables should be added. The feed formula is 30% of animal meat, 10% of fish and shrimp, 15% of animal offal, 10% of bean cake, 15% of wheat bran, 5% of chaff, 10% of radish and 5% of cabbage. In addition, 2 grams of salt, 5 grams of bone meal, 5 grams of yeast and 1 gram of cod liver oil were added to every 500 grams of mixed feed. During weasel pregnancy, meat feed can be increased to about 75%, and the amount of cereal and vegetable feed can be appropriately reduced to meet the needs of fetal growth and development in the mother.

Feeding mode

Feed each day once in the morning and evening, about 40% from 7 to 8 a.m. and 60 percent from 5 to 6 p.m. When feeding, cut the food into small pieces evenly and stop feeding once a week in order to stimulate appetite. The cub's feed is easy to digest and rich in nutritious semi-liquid sticky food, such as milk and eggs.

Reproduction method

Weasels usually mate in estrus from the beginning of March to the end of April. The gestation period is about one month. Each weasel gives birth to only one fetus each year. Before giving birth, the female weasel makes a round nest with bedding grass in the nest box and blocks the entrance and exit with grass. There is no need for manual delivery. The environment should be kept quiet and do not disturb it, so as to prevent the weasel from running around or killing the cub. When the cubs are weaned at 30-40 days, they can be divided into nests and selected according to their physical strength. It is necessary to strengthen nutrition and careful management for the weak.

Note: there are two problems to pay attention to when keeping weasel pets. First, regular and quantitative feeding, a variety of feed varieties, do not feed spoiled feed. The second is to do a good job in cleaning and disinfecting the environment, cages and utensils to prevent the occurrence of epidemic diseases.
