Peacocks have a strong ability to adapt to the acidity and alkalinity of water and are very resistant to low temperature. they can grow and reproduce normally when the water temperature is between 6.3 and 7.8, and the water temperature is about 18 degrees Celsius, and can still survive when the water temperature is as low as 13 degrees Celsius, so it gives the illusion that it is easy to raise, but in fact, the domesticated peacock fish is very delicate, and its disease resistance and resistance to sudden changes in water quality are very low.

How to raise peacock fish?

So how to raise peacocks? First of all, let's take a look at the water quality: Peacock is a member of the oviparous fish family, which is found in small lakes and slow-flowing waters along the coast and coastal islands of South America. It is similar to Mary and other oviparous fish in the living environment, and adapts to the weakly alkaline water quality, that is, the hydrological environment in which the PH value is between 7mo and 7.3 and the DH value is about 8rel 9. However, due to the strong adaptability of peacocks, you can ignore this problem when mixed breeding or when you want to raise water grass tanks, but if you want to cultivate good species, it is best to raise them alone. The reaction of peacock fish to medicine and chlorine is very intense, and the residual chlorine in the water is the main culprit for the sudden death of a large number of peacock fish, so the water for raising peacock fish should be fully dried.

When raising peacock fish, it should be noted that due to the complex strains and varieties of peacock fish, it is easy to cause reproductive confusion when different strains of male and female peacock fish are mixed together, so in order to get pure offspring, when raising peacock fish, we should isolate different species of peacock fish according to the requirements of reproduction, specifically there are two methods as follows.

Male and female mixed culture of the same breed

That is, the method of keeping multiple male and female peacock fish of the same species together in an aquarium and allowing them to mate freely to reproduce, it is important to note that different species should not be raised together so as not to cause the offspring to be impure (except if you want to create a new species, of course).

Separate male and female breeding of different varieties

In other words, different species of males are raised separately on one side and females on the other side, and suitable male and female fish are selected during breeding, so as to avoid damage to parent fish caused by excessive mating and to maintain the purity of offspring.

It can be seen from the upward mouth of peacock fish that they are upper-water fish that eat floating bait, and their feeding habits are very miscellaneous and can be fed to all fish bait. Water lice, silk earthworms, harvest shrimp, blood worms, bread worms, vegetables, hamburgers (even newborn peacock fish) can be fed as long as you pay attention to disinfection and do not pollute the water.
