What are the varieties of koi?

According to the difference of scales, the classification of koi can be divided into two categories, namely, ordinary scale type and non-scale type or low-scale type, scale-free grass carp and low-scale mirror carp are introduced from Germany, so they are often called German system koi. According to the color of its markings, it can be divided into three categories, namely, monochromatic category such as light yellow, gold, variety carp, etc.; two-color category, such as red and white, writing carp, other light, etc.; trichromatic category, such as Dazheng tricolor, Zhaohe tricolor, clothing, etc.

Now, the "Love scale Society" in Japan uses 13 kinds of classification: red and white, Taisho tricolor, Akira tricolor, writing carp, don't light, light yellow Qiucui, clothing, mutant carp, gold, pattern skin light carp, writing light carp, gold and silver scales, Danding.

Red and white koi

The background color of red and white koi is white with red markings, which is the orthodoxy of Japanese koi and has the laudatory name of "red and white, finally red and white". The most valuable species of red and white koi is white scarlet above the eyes, followed by the mouth, there is no scarlet but only white is the first-class fish. According to the number, shape and position of its back markings, it can be divided into the following varieties:

1. Two-stage red and white koi: on the white fish body, there are 2 scarlet markings, just like the red sunset, bright and dazzling. The erythema of the trunk must be symmetrical in order to be considered a good product.

2. Three segments of red and white koi: there are three red markings on the back of the white fish, which is very eye-catching.

3. Four segments of red and white koi: there are four bright red spots scattered on the silver-white fish body.

4. a red koi: there is a red band from the head to the tail stalk.

5. Red and white koi with lightning stripes: there is a red stripe on the fish from beginning to end, which is shaped like the bending of lightning in a thunderstorm, hence the name.

6. Fuji red and white koi: there are silver and white granular spots on the head, just like the snow on the top of Mount Fuji. However, this spot generally appears only on 1-or 2-year-old fish.

7. Royal Temple Cherry brocade carp: small red spots gather into grape-like patterns, which are evenly distributed on both sides of the back of the fish.

8. Golden Cherry koi: the red bright scale edge of the royal cherry brocade carp is embedded with golden thread, which is called golden cherry brocade carp. This is a precious variety with a very beautiful appearance.

Dazheng tricolor koi

Taisho tricolor koi was born in the Taisho era of Japan in 1915. Its main feature is the red and black markings on the pure white background of the fish. The best part of this fish is that the black part is as black as ink, with large scarlet markings and black markings arranged harmoniously on the back. All colors must appear on the top of the back to be considered authentic. Some of the Dazheng tricolor koi win with the novel colors of the stripes, while others attract attention because of their elegant posture, plump figure and strange style. According to the distribution of red and black spots on the fish body, it can be divided into:

1. Lipstick tricolor koi: there are round bright little red spots on the lips of the fish, which are very handsome.

2. Red tricolor koi: refers to the Dazheng tricolor koi with continuous red markings from head to tail.

3. Fuji tricolor koi: on the snow-white background of the fish, in addition to red and black markings, silver-white granular markings appear on the head.

4. German tricolor koi: with koi as the basic type, the fish is scaleless and shows red and black markings on the white skin. The body of the young fish is particularly gorgeous.

Zhaohe tricolor koi

Showa tricolor koi was born in 1927 in Showa, Japan. Its main feature is that the black background of the fish is embellished with red and white patterns, and there are round black spots at the base of the pectoral fin, also known as yuan black. Zhaohe tricolor koi has a high ornamental value, gorgeous and vigorous, is the essence of Jinli. The main varieties are as follows:

1. Light black Showa koi: on its black spot, all the scales are light black, elegant and graceful, with unique style.

2. Hizhao and Koi carp: from head to tail, there are large areas of red patterns, the same red and black, gorgeous and dignified.

3. Modern Showa koi: the fish body is still composed of black, red and white, but the white markings are mostly white, and the black stripes are like black spots, which have the bright colors of Dazheng tricolor koi.

4. German Showa koi: take mirror carp as the basic type. German Luyu body is dressed in the colorful clothes of Zhaohe tricolor koi with bright patterns.
