Parrot fish belong to large and medium-sized fish, it should be raised in a larger tank, and strengthen the cleaning of water and oxygen delivery, tropical fish life is short, generally only 2 ~ 3 years (small fish), fish disease timely cure is an important means to prolong life. The main points of prevention and treatment of common diseases of parrot fish are as follows:

Morbid manifestation

Sometimes different diseases have the same symptoms, which needs to be based on special symptoms as the main basis for diagnosis.

1. Sick fish are lethargic and depressed, commonly known as "unrealistic", and the amount of activity is significantly reduced.

2. Hide in a corner or gather in a crowd.

3. Caudal fin, dorsal fin or no extension, commonly known as tail clip.

4. Loss of appetite, no grabbing food.

5. The color of body surface is not bright.

6. Special pathological changes or symptoms are the main basis of diagnosis. For example: spots, rotten lumps, redness and swelling, edema, hyperemia, blood stasis, bleeding, abnormal color, increased mucous membrane, mucosal exfoliation or rubbing its body surface or fins everywhere, drilling left and right swing everywhere and so on.

7. Tropical fish suffering from infectious diseases must meet three conditions:

① pathogens: bacteria, viruses, molds, parasites and so on.

② transmission route: contaminated water, utensils, water fleas, diseased fish, etc.

③ susceptible animals (fish): most of the same kind of fish get the same disease at the same time.

Measures to detect diseased fish

1. First of all, to distinguish whether it is an infectious disease or not, it should be diagnosed in time. If it cannot be diagnosed, it will remain motionless temporarily or be managed according to infectious diseases.

2. Schools of fish or individuals with infectious diseases should be strictly isolated, and all breeding equipment should be used separately.

3. According to the development of the disease, you can stop eating or feed less, observe its feeding and activity in detail, and take medicine as appropriate after diagnosis.

4. During the onset of the disease, we should strengthen the feeding and management, pay attention to the change of water temperature, and it is best to keep it constant, especially with caution in changing water. Diseased fish can also be eliminated as appropriate.
