There are two reproduction methods of goldfish: natural reproduction and artificial reproduction, but in practical application, the main methods are artificial selection of parent fish and natural reproduction, supplemented by artificial reproduction. Let's take a look at the breeding methods of goldfish.

Natural reproduction of goldfish

After the parent fish are selected from the pond, they are put into the spawning pond according to the proportion of female and male at 1:1 or 3:2 or 2:1, so that they should not migrate too much. Spawning ponds can use glass tanks, cement ponds and so on. When the male fish chase after the star, the male and female fish will chase the phenomenon, this phenomenon from less to more, from short to long. After a few days, the male will chase after the female with his head against the belly of the female for a long time, which is a sign before spawning. This time is too short to add fish nests to the spawning pond in time. The lattice materials of fish nests vary from place to place, generally using goldfish algae, foxtail algae, brown silk rope, plastic flowers, algae bundles and so on. After cleaning, these different materials are cut into small segments about 30 centimeters long, with dozens of them in a bundle, tied up with ropes and suspended in the middle or both sides of the water layer. Due to the rise in water temperature, the injection of new water and the stimulation of the opposite sex, the parent fish spawn on the second to three days after they are put into the nest.

Generally speaking, the peak spawning time of parent fish is from 4 am to 10:00 At this time, the male and female fish chased to a state of extreme excitement, and the female fish drilled into the nest, hitting the water with the caudal fin while laying eggs, so that the eggs adhered more evenly to the nest, and the male fish excreted white semen, thus completing the fertilization process. After the eggs are common on the surface of the fish nest, the fish nest should be taken out of the spawning pond and put into the incubator to hatch.

Artificial propagation of goldfish

Artificial reproduction refers to the artificial insemination of fish species with low success rate of interspecific hybridization or natural fertilization under specific circumstances. When the parent fish to be selected has obvious chase phenomenon, first check the female fish, clamp the tail handle of the female fish with the thumb, index finger and middle finger of the left hand, so that the parent fish can not swing and struggle. Then use the right thumb and index finger, starting from the pectoral fins on both sides of the fish body, gently squeeze toward the arm fin direction, if there are mature eggs, there will be eggs squeezed out in a small enamel basin, and then gently squeeze out the semen of male fish in the same way, and gently mix well with clean feathers to let the sperm and eggs come into full contact. After a few minutes, the insemination work is completed, and then wash the eggs several times with clean water to remove the excess semen. The fertilized egg can be poured on the fish's nest and allowed to hatch naturally.

Note that in the whole overplanting, the water is clean, the temperature is relatively constant, and the parent fish should be well managed after use to avoid loss.

Cross breeding of goldfish

In theory, goldfish and crucian carp can be hybridized. Goldfish itself is selected from wild crucian carp. They are different species of the same species in a biological sense. But in fact, it is difficult to cross between goldfish and crucian carp, because great changes have taken place in appearance and living habits between goldfish and crucian carp. When mixed culture, crucian carp has obvious physiological advantages, so it is difficult to make natural pairing of fish with obvious advantage gap.

In theory, artificial insemination of goldfish and crucian carp can achieve the success of breeding, but no one will do such a thing, because their offspring will not be prettier than goldfish, nor will they have the same ability to live as crucian carp. Neither will be good.

The hatching of fertilized eggs

When the fish pond (tank, basin) is washed and injected with newly dried water, it can be used as an incubator and put into the egg nest when the water temperature is consistent with the water temperature required by the spawning pond. Generally 2 meters square of the pond can hold about 6 eggs and fish nests.

The fertilized eggs of goldfish are orange, translucent and 1.0 to 1.2 mm in diameter. 24 hours after fertilization, if the egg is white, it is an unfertilized egg. It usually takes 4-7 days for fertilized eggs to go through the important stages of cell division, blastocyst stage, gastrula stage and larval stage, and the broken membrane of hatching depends on the water temperature. When the water temperature is higher than 25 ℃, the larvae can be hatched in 2-3 days.

Breeding technique of goldfish

3-7 days after fertilization, the larvae break out of the egg membrane and enter the feeding stage, when the fish is 1.5-2.0 cm long. According to whether the body shape is normal, whether the caudal fin is divided into four tails, and so on, we put the selected larvae into the breeding pond to continue to raise. The stocking density is about 50 tails / square meter, and sifted plankton is added to the pond. If the water quality is relatively thin, 0.25 kg of fertilizer and water can be added per square meter to promote the proliferation of plankton. After a month of feeding, the fish body can reach 3-4 cm, and then the stocking density can be selected and adjusted for the second time to start the feeding stage of juvenile fish.
