In order to treat diseased fish, we must know exactly the source and condition of the disease. if we lack experience, it is difficult to accurately judge the disease. the most basic way is to classify the disease and then carry out appropriate treatment. when it is impossible to know what kind of disease the goldfish is suffering from, we have to carry out more extensive treatment and take drugs with a wide range of medicines. if a goldfish in the tank is found to be sick, the diseased fish should be moved to another isolation treatment tank immediately. Only in this way can we prevent other goldfish from being infected. The treatment of goldfish disease is described below:

Rotten tail and fin disease

[cause] the rotten tail and fin disease of goldfish caused by bacteria is highly contagious, starting with the fins and then rotting to death.

[symptoms] there are two symptoms of rotten fin disease. The first one begins to rot from the edge of the fin and then extends inward, and the second starts from the central part of the fin and spreads in all directions. The affected area turns white and finally falls off. Goldfish transport or spawning after the body resistance will be weakened, at this time the most vulnerable to the disease.

[prevention and treatment methods] once diseased fish are found, they must be isolated immediately and treated with antibiotics or dimethoate yellow and other agents. When the symptoms of rotten fin appear slowly, the treatment is to replace part of the tank water, clean the filter and add a little salt to the tank, and stop feeding for several days. The function of salt therapy is to increase the specific gravity of the water, change the osmotic pressure in the water, and kill bacteria and other pathogens through changes in osmosis. It can also be directly treated with commercial Sera bactericides, American carbendazim, queen whale specific goldfish diseases, queen whale bacteria and AZ00 bacteria.

Bacterial Gill disease

[symptoms] goldfish infected with bacterial Gill disease, the initial symptoms are loss of appetite, often stop under the water, and shortness of breath, if you lift the posterior edge of the operculum, you will see white incomplete strontium filaments. Especially in crowded fish tanks, when the water quality deteriorates, goldfish are most susceptible to the disease and are highly contagious, so it is necessary to isolate diseased fish.

[prevention and treatment methods] the methods and agents for the treatment of this disease are the same as bacterial rotting tails and rotten fins, but salt should be added to the water (two grams of salt for every 100 liters of water) to reduce the loss of goldfish body fluids from rotting strontium filaments to the outside of the fish, causing the goldfish to die from dehydration. Fungi can also cause rotten gills, so it is necessary to improve the water quality in order to control the disease. The filter can remove suspended particles, prevent the growth of bacteria and fungi, and keep the tank water clean, so strengthening the filtration system can prevent the occurrence of Gill disease.

Standing scale disease

[symptoms] in the aquarium, it is often found that the scales of goldfish protrude and fall off due to disease, most of the scales of diseased fish will stand up almost completely, and only a few diseased fish will appear partial scale phenomenon. If the body surface of diseased fish is rubbed, the originally loose scales will fall off one after another.

[cause] the pathogen causing the disease is not clear, but it often occurs when the water temperature is low in winter and summer.

[control methods] the mortality rate of scale disease is very high. If it is detected as early as possible, it can also be cured by antibiotics, such as American carbendazim and AZ00 bacteriological agents. The disease is not contagious, but it is very troublesome to take care of diseased fish.

Red dot disease

[symptoms] there are obvious red spots on the side and abdomen of the diseased fish, which is its biggest feature. If there is a large increase in bacteria in the water, the skin of the goldfish will be damaged and thus filled with blood.

[prevention and treatment] the tank water should be changed immediately so that it can be cured without medicine. Seriously diseased fish need to be isolated and treated with antibiotics.
