The list of National key protected Wildlife was approved by the State Council on December 10, 1988 and issued and implemented by the Ministry of Forestry and the Ministry of Agriculture on January 14, 1989. More than 330 species of terrestrial wild animals are listed in the list. Among them, there are more than 90 species of land wild animals under national first-class protection, such as giant pandas, golden monkeys, gibbons, red-crowned cranes and so on. Bee monkey (all species)

Bee monkey, also known as loris, monkey, beaver, etc., is a kind of monkey under the primate bee monkey, there are 9 subspecies, small and slow, with a body length of 28cm and 38cm. Live in tropical rain forest and subtropical monsoon forest, live completely on trees, rarely go to the ground, and like to move alone. Action is particularly slow and accelerates only when attacked. Curl up in balls during the day in holes in big trees or rest on branches, come out at night to find food, feed on plant fruits, and also prey on insects, birds and eggs. Distributed in Yunnan and southern Guangxi, mostly distributed in Southeast Asia.

Bear monkey

Bear monkey is a kind of monkey under the primate macaque, also known as monkey, Assam monkey, mountain monkey and so on, and its size is similar to that of macaque. It is different from rhesus monkeys in that the face is relatively long and the eyebrow arch is high and prominent. It is endemic to the Himalayas and Indochina, mainly living in monsoon evergreen broad-leaved forest, deciduous broad-leaved forest, coniferous and broad-leaved mixed forest or alpine dark coniferous forest. The habitats and habits are somewhat similar to those of macaques, but bear monkeys live in relatively higher habitats, have more cold tolerance, and distribute at northerly latitudes. It mainly feeds on wild fruits and fresh branches and leaves of plants, as well as some insects, amphibians and small birds.

Taiwan monkey

Taiwan monkey is endemic to China, also known as Taiwan macaque, black-legged monkey, rocky macaque, etc., similar to macaque, with a grayish body and dark tail. Inhabiting rocks and forests, it is a semi-terrestrial animal that feeds on all kinds of wild fruits, leaves, insects, and sometimes steals farmers' grains and fruits. A multi-male and multi-female family group is formed, with a strong adult male as the leader, giving birth to one litter per birth and a life span of up to 20 years. Produced in southern and central Taiwan Province of China.

Porpoise monkey

Dolphin-tailed monkey, also known as flat-topped monkey, pigtail monkey, pig monkey, etc., body length 54-62 cm, stout, flat head, with radiation arranged black-brown top hair. The whole body is light yellowish brown, the hair on the top of the head is short, radiation is arranged into a tan flat-topped area, like a cap, and most of the hair on the tail is short and thin, shaped like a pigtail. Inhabit tropical or subtropical forests or low-altitude coniferous forests, camp arboreal life, like to live in groups, feed on plant fruits, but also prey on insects and birds.

Leaf monkey (all species)

Leaf monkey is one of the most endangered primates in the world, a total of 11 species, slender body, no cheek pouch, hair color is basically the same, or brown, or gray, or black, the ventral color is light. Living in tropical or subtropical forests, mainly to eat leaves, long tail, suitable for arboreal life, like to move on tall trees, and sometimes go to the ground to drink water or look for food. Jump between trees, the distance can reach 10 to 12 meters. Activity during the day, sleep in a big tree at night, no nest. Distributed in Thailand, Malaysia, Sumatra, Borneo, Java and nearby small islands.

Malay bear

Malay bear, also known as bear, sun bear, small bear, etc., is a small bear of the genus Malay bear of the carnivorous order. The smallest living bear has a black body, a short fat neck, a short round head, small eyes, a hairless nose and lips, small ears and a wide neck. There is a symmetrical hair spin on the shoulders and a hair spin in the center of the chest spot. The tail is about as long as the ear, with short webbed at the base. The chest is usually dotted with a conspicuous "U" pattern, which is light brown or yellowish white. The tongue is long and suitable for licking termites. The claw hook is in the shape of a sickle and is good at climbing. It is mainly distributed in Southeast Asia and South Asia, and a small amount is distributed in Lvchun and Xizang Mangkang in Yunnan, China. Omnivorous, eating leaves, fruits, honey, insects and small animals.

Giant panda

Giant pandas are endemic to China, also known as pandas, bamboo bears, silver dogs and so on. The main existing habitats are in the mountains of Sichuan, Shaanxi and Gansu. The body color is black and white, it has round cheeks, two large dark circles under the eyes, a strong body, the iconic eight-shaped walking style, and scalpel-sharp claws. It has lived on the earth for at least 8 million years and is known as "living fossil" and "Chinese national treasure". It is the image ambassador of WWF and the flagship species of biodiversity conservation in the world.

Sable

Sable is a mink endemic to northern Asia, also known as sable, forest marten, mink, etc., that activities and hunts during the day, hunting small prey by smell and hearing, including rodents, birds, and fish, and sometimes eating berries and pine cones. Most of them build nests on the ground of the forest and hide in the nest or even store food in it in bad weather or when they are hunted. Its fur, called mink, is only produced in Northeast China, and is also known as "Northeast Sanbao" with "ginseng and velvet antler". It is widely distributed in the Ural Mountains, Siberia, Mongolia, Northeast China and Hokkaido, Japan.

Mink bear

Marten bears, also known as wolverines, moon bears, flying bears, etc., inhabit cold temperate coniferous forests and permafrost grasslands, usually have no fixed nests in non-breeding seasons, and live in caves abandoned by rock crevices or other animals. More solo activities, day and night, eating miscellaneous, including hoofed, rodents, birds and forest berries, but also prey on foxes, feral cats and so on. Good at long-distance running, swimming and climbing, can jump freely in the dense forest, known as "flying bear". The sex is alert and ferocious, strong. There are well-developed stinky glands near the anus, which use urine to preserve food. Have the habit of half hibernation.

Bear beaver

Bear beaver, also known as badger, bear bear, etc., lives in the tropical rain forest or seasonal rain forest, is good at climbing and jumping on tall trees, and is a typical arboreal animal. The morning and dusk activities are more frequent, mainly feeding on fruits, eggs, birds and small beasts. It can reproduce all the year round, mate from February to March every year, and give birth in the middle of May, 2-3 litters per baby, with a life span of 10-15 years. Produced in southern Yunnan, mostly distributed in Southeast Asia, belongs to China's national first-class protected animals.
