Last Updated: 2024/11/22, Recently, after several rains, I found that many people in the community are growing leeks, and pots of fresh green on the balcony are gratifying! The weather is so powerful that Huahua takes the opportunity to teach everyone to grow leeks at home and cut as they eat!

If you plant leeks on the balcony, you can cut a crop in 10 days.

1. Select the flowerpot

After all, the purpose of growing leek is to eat, the flowerpot is as big as possible, you can grow more, and you don't have to buy it specially. The foam box at home is very good, and you can drill a few holes under it to permeate water and air.

There is no foam box, the shallow plastic basin idle at home is also OK, remember to punch holes and get some air.

2. Prepare the soil

Chinese chives do not have high requirements for soil, garden soil and rotten leaf soil are half, loose and breathable; add a little rotten bean cake fertilizer to the soil as base fertilizer, the thickness of the soil layer is about 15~20cm.

3. Selection of leek varieties.

Buy some leek roots in the florist or online. Huahua suggests buying that kind of purple root leek, which tastes better. Those tall, wide-leaved leeks look good or not.

4. Plant leek

Bury the root in the soil to expose the leek head, each plant can be closer, but keep the row spacing 7~10cm, plant after pouring water, 3 days can grow new buds.

Patient florists can also try to sow leeks:

1. Soak the seeds in warm water for 10 hours, then sow the seeds, sow them thoroughly and cover them with a layer of plastic film.

2. About 1 week after planting, it can germinate. After germination, it is necessary to bask in the sun more. When the small seedlings grow to more than ten centimeters long, transplant them into a large pot and plant 3 to 5 plants in a pit.

3. Sowing leek that year cannot be harvested and let it wither naturally, so that it will grow more and better in the next spring.

Leek is the best to raise, don't worry about it or blow up the basin.

1. The light should be sufficient

Leek is not afraid of the sun, but afraid of lack of light, unless it is 40 degrees high temperature exposure to shade, other times can accept all-day sunshine, 15: 35 ℃ weather completely do not care, wind and rain can grow very well.

2. don't water too often.

The leek does not need to be watered too much, and the basin soil is dry and thoroughly watered. Generally, water is watered once a week under high temperature and once every 10-15 days after autumn. Too much watering is easy to rot the roots.

3. don't fertilize too much.

If base fertilizer is added to the soil, there is no need to apply fertilizer before cutting the first crop of leeks. After cutting, dig a small hole in the soil gap and bury a few compound fertilizers or slow-release fertilizers. Apply fertilizer every time you cut a crop of leek, and you don't need to apply fertilizer at other times.

Chives like potash fertilizer, flower friends after cutting leeks, you can sprinkle some plant ash in the soil, leeks will grow very strong, but not too much.

4. Harvest leeks

After the leek root is planted, it will grow a crop in about 10 days. The first crop will grow a little weaker and should be harvested earlier. After that, the growth will be much better and it is easy to burst.

After the second crop, it is best to cut every 20 to 30 days, which is not only good to taste, but also good for the root system of leek.

What good does leek have to the body?

1. Rich in nutrition

Leek is rich in B vitamins, protein and calcium, potassium, phosphorus and carotene, eating more is good for physical and mental health.

2. Moistening the intestines and relieving defecation

Leek contains a lot of vitamins and crude fiber, which can promote gastrointestinal peristalsis, treat constipation and prevent bowel cancer.

3. Protect the skin and clear eyes

Leek is rich in vitamin An and vitamin C, eating more can beauty skin care, clear eyes and moisten the lungs, but also reduce the chance of catching cold.

4. Promoting blood circulation and removing blood stasis

The sulfur compounds contained in leeks have certain bactericidal and anti-inflammatory effects, as well as dispersing blood stasis, activating blood circulation, reducing blood lipids, detoxification and so on.

As for the legend of strengthening yang and tonifying the kidney, it is really just a legend.
