Efficient culture technology of crocodile
Crocodiles are extremely precious animals. Their names may be derived from playing in the water like fish. Domestic domesticated and bred species include Chinese alligator, Siamese crocodile, bay crocodile, Nile crocodile, etc. There are three kinds of crocodile allowed to be used: Siamese crocodile, bay crocodile and Nile crocodile. Siamese crocodile is widely domesticated in northern China. Let's take a look at the efficient breeding techniques of crocodile.
The prospect of crocodile culture
With the improvement of people's living standards and the increasing demand for crocodile products, people will pay more and more attention to the development of crocodile breeding, processing industry and tourism. In recent years, there are more and more imported crocodiles in China, and some hotels, restaurants and hotels have put crocodile meat on the table as seafood. At the same time, the international price of processed alligator leather is US $2 to US $8 per square centimeter, and other parts of the alligator, such as head, feet, teeth, claws, spine and so on, can also be processed into souvenirs for sale. glands, skins, gallbladder and fat can be made into new anticancer drugs or processed finished products, the main consumer markets are some economically developed countries and regions, the market prospect is broad.
The living habits of crocodiles
1. Food habits: crocodiles are carnivorous animals, mainly feeding on fish, waterfowl, hares, deer, frogs, etc., and feed fish, pork, beef, poultry viscera and plants on apples and vegetable leaves under artificial feeding conditions.
2. Reproductive habits: adult crocodiles mate for several hours from May to June, but fertilize for only 1-2 minutes and lay eggs from July to August. The male alligator monopolizes the field, drives the intruder, and the male leads the female.
3. Growing environment: except for a few crocodiles living in temperate zones, most crocodiles live in rivers, lakes and watery swamps in tropical and subtropical regions, and some live in shoals near the coast.
Advantages of crocodile culture
1. Low feeding cost: the feed consumed by crocodiles is mainly meat and fish, with an average annual feed amount of 72.6 kg, equivalent to no more than 500 yuan, and can maximize the use of breeding places and equipment.
2. Strong reproductive ability: female alligators over 10 years old lay an average of 40-70 eggs per year. According to practical experience, about 40 young alligators can be bred, and the female alligator can lay eggs for decades or even hundreds of years.
3. The feeding effect is quick: crocodile cubs can be converted into product processing and utilization after only 3 to 5 years of feeding, because this age has the lowest feed cost and the greatest economic benefit.
4. high economic benefit: the price of adult alligator in China is 30, 000 ~ 60, 000 yuan. If it is used as an alligator product, the price is at least 15000 yuan after 3-5 years of breeding, which can still achieve considerable economic benefits after removing the cost.
Culture techniques of crocodiles
1. Site selection of the base: the environmental condition of the whole area is good, there is no industrial pollution, pesticide pollution and domestic pollution, the water source is sufficient, the water quality is good, the air is fresh, and the soil is pollution-free. The fish ponds in the crocodile breeding base have fertile soil, environmental hygiene and fresh air.
2. Fish pond facilities: the bottom of the fish pond is flat, the silt ≤ is 20 cm, the water depth is 1-1.5 meters, and there is a 1-meter-high fence around it to prevent crocodiles from running and outsiders from entering. Feed fish (tilapia, silver carp, bighead carp) the bottom of the pond is flat, the silt ≤ is 20 cm, and the water depth is 1.5-2 meters.
3. Selection of disinfection: after drying the bottom of the fish pond, clean the pond with quicklime before releasing the seedlings and adjust the water quality. Crocodiles choose healthy and disease-free seedlings for stocking, while feed fish choose healthy and disease-free seedlings such as tilapia, silver carp and bighead carp for stocking.
4. Stocking density: 200,300 crocodile fry with a body length of 30mm 100cm (3kg / mu) are released per mu, and the stocking density of forage fish (tilapia, silver carp and bighead carp) is carried out according to the routine.
5. Feeding management: all crocodiles are fed with fresh feed fish (tilapia, silver carp, bighead carp). Feed fish are mainly mixed feed, corn, wheat husk, etc., regularly use quicklime, beneficial microorganisms and water quality improver to change water and add oxygen in time.
6. Water quality management: crocodile ponds should constantly inject new water to ensure fresh water, and at the same time discharge old water from crocodile ponds to fish ponds where tilapia, silver carp and bighead carp are raised, so as to make full use of aquaculture wastewater from crocodile ponds to ensure ecological balance and environmental hygiene.
7. Heat preservation and overwintering: crocodiles are not cold-resistant and stop their activities when the water temperature drops to 15 ℃. In cold weather in winter, cover the crocodile pond with thin film, and take high-temperature water from deep wells into the pond to ensure that crocodiles and other fish survive the winter safely.
