The key to feeding piglets after weaning is to feed them properly, whether too much or too little will affect their growth and development. Too much can easily lead to indigestion, dysentery and other diseases, and deficiency will make piglets suffer from stress due to hunger, which is not conducive to healthy growth. We can judge by the following aspects.

Check food intake

Check the feeding situation in time after feeding. If there is only a little scrap foam in the trough and there is no small pile of powder or pellet feed, it indicates that the amount of feed is moderate; if you see that the trough is licked clean and moist, indicating that the feeding is insufficient, the feeding amount should be increased appropriately next time; if there are leftovers in the trough, it means that the amount of feeding is too much, and the next time it should be reduced as appropriate.

Activity status of piglets

Check the activity of piglets. Before feeding, piglets hear a sound swarm to the trough, if the cry is hungry, they can feed more feed; for about 10 minutes, the feed in the trough is robbed, and the piglets do not go back to the nest, crowded and look around at the edge of the trough, which indicates that the feed is insufficient and can be fed more; the piglets do not respond much to the feed, and the cry is small and weak, not panic, indicating that they are not too hungry and can be fed less.

Defecation of piglets

Check the defecation of piglets. It is normal that the feces of piglets change from coarse to fine and from yellow to brown within 3 days of weaning. If the feces become soft, shiny, and the color is normal, the amount of feed does not need to be changed; if a small amount of sporadic feces in the circle is yellow and contains feed particles, indicating that individual pigs are overfed, the next feeding should be about 20% less than last time; if feces are found to be mushy, light gray, and sporadic yellow, there is undigested feed, which is a sign of dysentery in the whole litter of piglets, and should stop eating.

Through the above three aspects and then according to the actual situation of piglets feeding reasonable adjustment, so that piglets will not affect the normal growth and development because of feeding reasons, in order to maximize the economic benefits of pig raising.
