Vaccine immunity

At present, K88-LTB genetically engineered live vaccine (referred to as MM live vaccine) has been successfully developed in China to prevent diarrhea of Escherichia coli in piglets. Monovalent or multivalent inactivated vaccines of K88, K99, 987p and F41 have been immunized in sows for 4 or 6 weeks before delivery, so that newborn piglets can be protected by lactation.

Self-made inactivated vaccine

Because there are many serotypes of Escherichia coli, pig farms with conditions can make inactivated vaccine by isolating pathogenic bacteria, which has strong pertinence and good effect.

Passive immunity of antiserum

Injection or oral administration of newborn piglets with antisera made from isolated pathogenic strains or sera from parturient sows can reduce the incidence of disease.

Drug prevention

Antimicrobials can be taken orally in the whole litter of piglets for 3 days to prevent the disease.

Strengthen feeding and management

Pay attention to raising the temperature of the delivery room to prevent catching cold. Piglets should eat enough colostrum, do a good job of hygiene and disinfection, and keep the environment of the pig house clean and dry.
