The choice of the location of the sheep shed

Construction standard of sheep house

Due to the rainy and humid climate in Guizhou Province, it is better to build a building-style sheep house. The playground should be closely connected to the sheep house, with brick walls and partition walls on three sides, with a height of 1.5m to prevent sheep from escaping, and the playground floor should be treated with cement, requiring a flat and 2 °slope, with ditches all around, no stagnant water in the field, and keep it clean and dry.

The area of the sheep house

The sheephouse area can be designed according to the breeding scale, the area is too large to cause waste, too small is not conducive to large-scale production. Usually, the area of each sheep house is calculated according to 1 square meter, the breeding ram and ewe are calculated according to 2 square meters each, the breeding ram and ewe houses should be built separately, the lambing house can be built according to 20% of the basic ewes, and the area of the sports ground is generally 2 '2.5 times the area of the sheep house. A large number of sheep, the width of the site can build a double-row sheepfold, a single-row sheepfold can be built when the number is small or the site width is less than 6m, and the single-row can be built according to half of the size of the double-row.

The feed trough and grass rack of the sheep barn

For feeding water and salt, it can be set up separately or combined into a combined forage rack. It is most practical to nail a long movable trough with a plank. Generally, the material trough is 2m long, high 20cm, upper wide 35cm, lower wide 30cm. It is generally placed outside the sheep house so that the sheep's foot does not step into the rack and the material does not fall on the sheep body.
