The harm of adding clenbuterol to pig feed
Clenbuterol, the scientific name of clenbuterol, was originally an antiasthmatic drug for asthma, also known as clenbuterol, clenbuterol and so on. If a large dose of the drug is used for meat livestock breeding, it can increase the synthesis of protein, and the addition to the feed can improve the feed conversion rate, grow faster, significantly reduce the fat of livestock, increase lean meat, and increase the percentage of carcass lean by more than 10%.
Farmers use "clenbuterol" because "clenbuterol" can bring them greater profits. Generally speaking, the cost of raising a lean pig from breeding to adult pigs is much higher than that of raising an ordinary pig. Only the cost of buying two kinds of pigs and the relatively long breeding period makes many farmers unaffordable. Using "clenbuterol" to turn an ordinary pig into a lean pig, it takes about 10-20 days, the cost is only a few yuan, and the pig's coat color is bright, the hip muscle is full and developed, and the live pig is very attractive; slaughtered pork due to the accumulation of clenbuterol, the color is bright red and attractive.
However, clenbuterol is neither a veterinary drug nor a feed additive, but an adrenal nerve stimulant, which is actually a hormone and a "drug" that seriously endangers the healthy development of animal husbandry and the safety of animal products. After eating clenbuterol, the toxicity of pigs is mainly accumulated in pig liver, pig lungs and so on. People eat cooked pig liver, pig lungs, there will be symptoms of poisoning, so we should pay attention to eat less pig lungs, heart, liver, kidneys and other internal organs.
After entering the body, "clenbuterol" has the characteristics of fast distribution and slow elimination, and its chemical properties are stable, so it is difficult to destroy its toxicity during cooking. Clenbuterol is highly toxic, and excessive or disease-free medication will lead to adverse reactions such as muscle tremor, palpitation, tremor, headache, nausea, vomiting and so on, especially for patients with hypertension, heart disease, hyperthyroidism, prostatic hypertrophy and so on. Long-term use, may lead to chromosome aberration, will induce malignant tumors, "clenbuterol" great harm, consumers must be more careful when buying pork. When buying, you must see clearly whether the pork has a health and quarantine certificate. The easiest way to identify whether pork contains "clenbuterol" is to see whether the pork has fat (lard). If it is found that the pork under the skin is lean, then this kind of pork is likely to contain "clenbuterol". If it is found that the pork is darker and brightly colored, the buttocks are full and prominent, and the fat is very thin, this kind of pork may contain "clenbuterol".
In recent years, due to the strengthening of pig feeding and slaughtering and quarantine management by various departments and the improvement of consumers' awareness of prevention, "clenbuterol" is used less and less in pig raising. However, "clenbuterol" appears in beef cattle raising in some farmers. This should arouse the great attention of the relevant management and quarantine departments and take effective measures to contain it so as to protect the health of consumers.
