Centipedes and snakes, scorpions, toads and geckos are called "five poisons", which shows that their status in ancient China is very "illustrious". In today's society, with the development of science and technology, the value of centipedes is getting higher and higher, and artificial breeding projects of centipedes have begun to appear in some places. Compared with traditional breeding projects, centipede farming is very trendy, and it is precisely because of this that some novice farmers have no way to prevent and cure the diseases of centipedes due to their lack of experience in breeding centipedes. Today, the pro-agricultural network will introduce several common diseases of centipedes and the corresponding prevention and control methods.

The common diseases of centipedes are Beauveria bassiana, gastroenteritis, shelling disease and black spot disease. These common diseases may cause centipede death and bring considerable economic losses to farmers. Here, the pro-agricultural network will introduce the onset time of these diseases, as well as the corresponding treatment methods for your reference and use.

1. Beauveria bassiana

From the middle of June to the end of August, the centipede was infected by Beauveria bassiana due to climate change, high temperature and high humidity. In the early stage, the infected centipede mainly appeared small black spots on the skin of the joints, then lost its luster on the body surface, and eventually died of weight loss due to refusing to eat.

The treatment is as follows: 0.6 grams of maternal food, 0.25 grams of oxytetracycline and 0.25 grams of chloramphenicol. Mix well with 400 grams of feed and feed the diseased centipede until the disease is cured.

Gastroenteritis

Don't think that gastroenteritis is a disease that people can get. Many animals have the possibility of gastroenteritis, and so are centipedes. Centipedes often suffer from this disease in the period of overcast, rainy and low temperature after autumn. In the early stage of the disease, the centipede's head was purplish red, the poison hook was full, did not eat or ate less, and died 5-7 days after the disease.

The treatment is as follows: 0.5 grams of sulfonamide tablets, then mix well with 300 grams of feed; another 0.25 grams of chloramphenicol, 300 grams of feed, mix well, and feed by mistake every other day.

3. Shelling disease

Due to the centipede habitat is too wet, so that fungi parasitic in the body caused. The initial performance is restless, crawling back and forth; in the later stage, the performance is weak, the action is slow, and eventually dies because he does not eat or drink.

Treatment is: 0.25 grams of oxytetracycline, 0.6 grams of food mother, 1 gram of calcium tablets, a total of fine powder mixed with 400 grams of feed, continuous feeding for 10 days can be cured.

4. Black spot

Black spot is the most common disease in cultured centipedes. Especially in summer, "black spot" caused by mold is easy to occur in artificial culture ponds, which often results in the death of a large number of young centipedes born that year, and sometimes adult centipedes die from this mycosis. According to years of investigation, this disease is rarely found in wild centipedes. Therefore, it can be considered that "black spot" is a serious disease under culture conditions.

If you find a diseased centipede, isolate the feed immediately. Use 0.25 grams of erythromycin tablets and chlortetracycline tablets to add 600 milliliters of water to force them to drink potions twice a day for 3 to 4 days, or spray them on brick tiles with erythromycin and chlortetracycline plus water. At the same time, pay attention to hygiene and water quality.

In addition to the above preventive measures, drugs for mildew can be mixed with food to feed the diseased centipede. Can play a therapeutic role.

The drugs of "black spot" include emulsifiers such as nystatin, amphotericin, actinomycetone and kanamycin. The method of ultraviolet light irradiation can also be used in the pool (outside the nest) to prevent or carry out auxiliary treatment, in order to kill pathogenic mold, prevent and cure diseases.

Can be used to feed 0.6 grams of mother, 0.25 grams of chloramphenicol, 0.25 grams of oxytetracycline, grinding fine mixed feed insects for 7 days to prevent and control, for serious cases can be separated and fed. Emulsifiers such as nystatin, amphotericin, actinomycetone and kanamycin can also be selected for prevention and treatment.

The above are several common diseases in the process of breeding centipedes, of which black spot is the most common, and it is also the most headache for centipede farmers, because the disease not only affects young centipedes, but also harms adult centipedes. This paper focuses on the introduction of the disease, hoping to give some help to all farmers.
