How to improve the pregnancy rate of female rabbits, generally, we mainly use three methods: rematch with rabbits, rematch with different rabbits and reasonable collocation.

Compound with rabbit

After the first mating, the female rabbit has an interval of no more than 5 hours, and then copulates with the same male rabbit again, which is called multiple mating. The breeding method is consistent with the ovulation of female rabbits stimulated by mating for 8 hours and 12 hours, so as to increase the pregnancy rate and litter size. This mating method is mostly used in breeding rabbit production.

Different rabbit rematch

Using two male rabbits with different consanguinity at intervals of 5 to 10 minutes (in which the interval is not more than 30 minutes), mating once with the same female rabbit (this method can not be used to breed purebred rabbits) can increase the pregnancy rate. This mating method is mostly used in commercial rabbit production.

Reasonable collocation

To prevent early breeding, it is better for female rabbits to reach the age of 7 months and weigh about 2.5 kg, while male rabbits reach the age of 9 months and weigh about 3 kg. In order to avoid breed degeneration, inbreeding should be prevented and there should be no pedigree relationship within at least 3 generations; adult male rabbits should be bred best in strong years; the best breeding frequency for special breeding male rabbits should be once every 2 days, and one male rabbit can be matched with 810 female rabbits; or 3 or 5 times a week according to physique, at least 1 day a week. In addition, the service life of male and female rabbits should not exceed 3 years.
