Let's take a look at whether the tilapia is very dirty.

Is tilapia dirty?

Tilapia is dirty mainly depends on the water quality of fish culture, wild, good water quality is absolutely not dirty, and tilapia growing up in dirty water is very disgusting. In fact, tilapia is a plant-based omnivorous fish. most of the digestive tract contents of tilapia in the pond are organic detritus and other plant feed (such as aquatic plants, commercial feed, etc.). Followed by phytoplankton, zooplankton and a small number of benthos.

What are the characteristics of tilapia?

1. Miscellaneous eating habits: tilapia is an omnivorous fish dominated by plants. The digestive tract contents of tilapia in the pond are mostly organic detritus and other plant feed, followed by phytoplankton, zooplankton and a small amount of benthos.

2. Hypoxia tolerance: tilapia has a strong tolerance to hypoxia, the asphyxiation point is 0.07 ~ 0.23 mg / L, it can still live and reproduce when the dissolved oxygen in water is 1.6 mg / L, and the growth is not affected when the dissolved oxygen in water is more than 3 mg / L.

3. Temperature sensitivity: the survival temperature range of tilapia is 15-35 ℃. It is dormant when the water temperature is lower than 15 ℃, the highest critical temperature is about 40-41 ℃, the most suitable growth temperature is 28-32 ℃, and the reproduction temperature is above 20 ℃.

4. Strong reproduction: when tilapia reaches sexual maturity in 6 months, the number of eggs laid by female fish weighing about 200 grams is about 1000-1500 eggs, and the young fish can hatch in 4-5 days at water temperature 25-30. The young fish leave the mother when the yolk sac disappears and has a certain ability.

What kinds of tilapia do you have?

1. Nile tilapia: Nile tilapia is native to eastern Africa, Jordan and other places. It has the advantages of fast growth, miscellaneous diet, hypoxia tolerance, large body size, high yield and high fatness. It can be raised alone or used as hybrid parent fish in many areas of our country.

2. Aulia tilapia: Aulia tilapia is native to the lower reaches of the Nile River in West Africa and Israel. It is more cold-tolerant, salt-tolerant, hypoxia-tolerant and higher than Nile tilapia. Crossing with Nile tilapia can produce all-male tilapia.

3. Mozambican tilapia: Mozambican tilapia is native to Africa, Mozambique, Natal and other places. Due to the neglect of purification and breeding in the process of introduction, the species is degraded and is only used as the female parent of Fushou fish hybrids.

4. Red tilapia: red tilapia is a kind of tilapia with fast growth rate, omnivorous, strong fecundity, wide salinity, less disease, large individual, beautiful body color and delicious meat. it is very popular with consumers and producers in Guangdong, Hong Kong and Macao.

5. Oreochromis niloticus: Oreochromis niloticus is a hybrid of Aulia tilapia male and Nile tilapia female, which is similar to the female parent in appearance, grows fast, the male rate is as high as 93%, and has obvious heterosis and high capture rate.

6. Fushou fish: Fushou fish is a hybrid of Mozambican tilapia female and Nile tilapia male. It has the advantages of omnivorous, less disease, fast growth and high yield, but its culture development is affected by its black body color and low meat content.
