Clam is one of the four major cultured shellfish in China, its meat is delicious, nutritious, rich in protein, carbohydrates and a variety of trace elements, deeply loved by the majority of consumers. With the increase of market demand, its culture area is also gradually expanding, the following pro-agricultural net brings clam culture technology.

1. Breeding ground

Clam culture areas should be selected in low tide areas with smooth tidal current, flat terrain and high sediment content, or in ponds with good water quality and sediment conditions, the transportation conditions of clam culture areas must be good, and they should be kept away from industrial pollution areas. The cultivation of the tidal flat should change it over the beach, flatten the turned-out sediment after the erosion of the tide and the exposure of the sun, and build dikes to prevent flood control in the areas vulnerable to tidal erosion and sediment cover, so as to prevent the loss of seeds and seedlings. On the other hand, pond culture should do a good job in the renovation of dams and sluices, drain the pond water 1 month before releasing seedlings, expose the substrate, do a good job of disinfection, and filter mariculture in the discharge.

2. Sowing seedlings

The time of sowing seedlings depends on the size of the seedlings. Generally, the white seedlings are from April to May, while the middle seedlings are from December to the next spring, and the big seedlings are before laying eggs. There are two methods of sowing seedlings, dry sowing and wet sowing, dry sowing after the low tide is exposed, the clam seedlings are scattered evenly to prevent piles, while wet sowing is uniform sowing in the areas where the tide is slow, the sowing time is long, and the survival rate is high, but it is only suitable for large and medium seedlings. Seeding density must be paid attention to, the sowing density is too large, clam growth is slow, but the density is too sparse, the yield is low, so it is necessary to master the sowing density.

3. Strengthen the management

After sowing seedlings, regular inspection and management should be conducted to check whether the seedlings are lost, the growth rate and survival rate of clams, so as to facilitate timely replenishment of seedlings and make relevant measures. In addition, we should also pay attention to the repair work of Chengdi and dams to prevent clams from escaping. In addition, clams that have just bred are extremely weak and often emerge from Chengdi. At this time, we should pay attention to the phenomenon of death caused by human trampling. After breeding, it is necessary to strengthen management or directly transplant other areas.

4. Strengthen disease prevention and control

Disease prevention and control should be strengthened in breeding, especially in the high temperature environment in summer when the incidence of clam disease is high, which often infects each other after clam death and decay. In addition, the high temperature in summer is easy to pollute the water quality and sediment. During the breeding period of parasites and microorganisms, the breeding area should be disinfected regularly, and quicklime or chlorine dioxide can be used to spray and disinfect the water body. In addition, when raising seedlings in summer, oxytetracycline can be added to the water body to control diseases and inhibit seedling reproduction, which is beneficial to the growth of clams.

The above is the clam culture technology brought by the pro-agricultural network, and this is the introduction of the clam culture technology here. If you want to know more, please pay attention to the pro-agricultural network.
