Cold protection and heat preservation

The doors and windows should be closed strictly in cold weather, and cushions with good thermal insulation performance should be added to ensure the dryness and hygiene of the house. Reasonable arrangement of breeding, when the house temperature is below 0 ℃ for a long time, breeding should be stopped and pigeons should be allowed to rest. In the diet, appropriate increase in sesame, rapeseed and other energy feed.

Pay attention to disease prevention

In winter, meat pigeons are easy to catch colds, cholera, trachea fire and other respiratory diseases and infect pigeon lice, fleas and other external parasites. Clean the house once a day and disinfect it once or twice a month with 5% disinfectant or 0.1% / 0.2% Xinjier solution. The pigeons were observed every morning and evening, and the sick pigeons were isolated and treated in time.

Drinking water sanitation

In winter, the amount of water consumed by each meat pigeon is 20ml to 30ml, which ensures clean drinking water. It is forbidden to drink overheated and frozen water. In cold weather, it is best to drink warm water of 15 ℃ ~ 20 ℃.

Ventilation in house

To keep the air in the house fresh and cold-proof in winter, it is necessary to control the order according to the weather, open doors and windows regularly or use equipment for ventilation.

Reasonable exercise

Meat pigeon bathing in winter is mainly sand bath, supplemented by water bath, two or three times a month, depending on the weather and pigeon performance. The water bath should be held at eleven or twelve o'clock in the morning when it is sunny and warm. Insecticides should be used in water or sand baths, such as 10%-20% lime emulsion or 01% potassium permanganate solution. Sunny and warm weather, release the meat pigeons for exercise and bask in the sun.
