In the process of pigeon breeding, how should farmers choose pigeon breeding equipment? Pigeon raising equipment and utensils mainly include pigeon cage, nest house, nest basin, feeding trough, drinking fountain, health care sand cup and perch, etc.

Pigeon cage

1. Pigeon cage material: cage-type pigeon cage, generally made of bamboo, wood and barbed wire. Large pigeon farms mostly use cabinet-type multi-layer pigeon cages.

2. Specifications of pigeon cages: large pigeon farms adopt cabinet-type multi-layer pigeon cages (45cm high, 50cm wide and 70cm deep). There are many models, but one of eight pigeon cages on four floors is more commonly used, which can raise 8 pairs of pigeons. Individual or professional households generally build bamboo pigeon cages or frames made of wooden strips according to local conditions, which can be surrounded by small bamboo strips, some frames are made of steel bars, and then surrounded by barbed wire.

Nest room

1. Nest room requirements: it should be wooden structure, and can be assembled and dismantled to facilitate moving.

2. Nest room specification: each nest room is divided into five floors, each pair of pigeons occupy one floor, with an area of 0.86 square meters, which is divided into two parts, the front is the pigeon resting room (about 0.12 square meters), and the rear is the production room (0.24 square meters). The middle is divided into two nests with movable boards. The back of each nest is fixed with a board, and the boards on both sides can be pulled out and inserted in layers. If multiple nests are needed to merge, the extra side partition can be pulled out.

Nest basin

1. Nest basin function: nest basin is a tool for pigeons to lay eggs, hold nests and raise chicks. The selection of reasonable nest basin plays a certain role in reducing the damage of pigeon eggs, improving the hatching rate and the survival rate of pigeons.

2. Nest basin production: commonly used nest basins are made of plastic, gypsum and wood, or made of bamboo sieves and tile pots, and grass nest pots made of straw or wheat straw.

3. Nest basin requirements: the diameter of the nest basin is 22 mi 26 cm, and the depth of the nest basin is 8 mi 10 cm. The nest basin had better be suspended in the nest basin to make it a hammock style. It is best to put soft, warm and good moisture absorption cushions in the nest basin, such as sawdust, straw, plastic sponge foam and so on. This not only facilitates cleaning and disinfection, keeping warm and ventilating, but also makes the pigeon eggs not easy to be damaged and improves the hatching rate.

Feeding trough

The feed trough is the feed trough. Pigeons are required to be easy to eat, less waste, long cleaning time, low cost, and convenient management and operation.

1. Feed trough production: bamboo tube, zinc iron sheet, plastic, fiberboard or wood are used. There are three commonly used bamboo feeding trough, wooden feeding trough and iron feeding trough.

2. The size of the trough: the size of the trough is generally 40 cm long, 10 cm wide and 8 cm deep. The length of the trough is generally 40 cm long, 10 cm wide and 8 cm deep. The trough length of the trough is generally 40 cm long, 10 cm wide and 8 cm deep. The trough is hung flat on the cage wall outside the cage and mounted between two pigeon cages for two pairs of adjacent pairs of pigeons.

If it is a feeding trough for meat pigeons, it should be placed on the ground of the pigeon house for collective use.

Drinking fountain (sink)

1. Requirements for drinking fountains

① keeps drinking water clean and adequate, and keeps pigeons' feet or bodies from entering the drinking fountain, and does not pollute drinking water such as pigeons and garbage.

② maintains a certain depth of drinking water (usually about 2.5cm, which can immerse the nose tumor of pigeons), and it is convenient to add water.

2. Water dispensers for pigeon production in cages: there are three kinds of drinking fountains: cup type, trough type and water pipe drinking fountain. The commonly used trough drinking fountain is a long flume, which can be made of iron sheet, which is about 5 cm high, 6 cm wide and 4 cm wide at the bottom, with the same length as the length of the cage. This kind of sink is widely used in large and medium-sized pigeon farms. Both single-row and double-row pigeon cages can be used, and this kind of sink can also be welded with plastic pipes with a diameter of 5mi 7cm.

3. Group breeding pigeon and child pigeon drinking fountain: this kind of drinking fountain can not only ensure that pigeons drink water continuously, but also keep pigeon feet from entering the drinking fountain, and its feces and feathers are not easy to fall into the water. at present, plastic drinking fountains are often used, which can hold 2500, 000 milliliters of water at a time, and are easy to use, and can often keep drinking water clean.

Health sand cup

Health sand, also known as saline soil, is an indispensable feed additive for pigeons. Containers containing health care sand are best made of ceramics, wood or plastic products, rather than metal, because metal products are prone to chemical changes with health care sand. Commonly used are plastic drinking cups or cylinders, with a diameter of 6 cm and a depth of no more than 8 cm. A small amount of health sand is hung on the outside of the cage to make pigeons eat. The simple method can also be separated in the four parts of the feed trough and place health sand for pigeon consumption.

Perch frame

There must be a perch in the pigeon house for pigeons at night, during the day and on rainy days. The production of the perch is very simple, nailing a number of bamboo poles on two sticks, each of which is about 20,000,000 centimeters apart. The lowest bamboo pole is required to be 40 centimeters above the ground to prevent moisture.
